Just curious, what was the academic program that LexI left for at UNC that wasn’t available at ISU?
This is just what I heard 3rd hand from someone but she liked their MBA program more than ISU's. Depending on what you look at for how places rank who has the best MBA programs one site I found one that had ISU at 87 and UNC at 35. There were also rumors she was interested in Indiana, same site has their MBA program ranked 19. Fortune ranked UNC MBA program at 26, Indiana at 34 and ISU is not even on their top 100. I don't think I'm the only one here that has said her transfer was partially academic related either. Regardless it was 2 years ago so haven't really thought much of it since.

At ISU you are not eligible to enter the MBA program without real world experience. There are a few Master's Programs in the College of Business that require business experience prior to being admitted. @brentblum would be able to shed more light on this.

Interesting. When I was in the program in early 2000s, there were bunch of classmates who didn't have any work experience at all, jump straight from undergrad to MBA.

I see now that they require 18 months of work experience but in my opinion that's still too light - ideally 2 years at least. 3 would be good.

It’s not required, but I always told folks going into teaching that getting 4-5 years of experience before grad school would make everything make much more sense while in a highly specialized grad program.

I can see how it might make sense, but I have a buddy who's a high school teacher. Graduated in 3 years with a biology degree then immediately took a 15-month master's course that guaranteed him higher pay from the start.

I heard this too from a former team manager that helped Lexi with this process. Now I am not saying there weren't other reasons but this was the main one.

Lots do that….for the pay. Can’t blame them since teachers don’t get paid well. But, the program would make more sense and seem much more applicable with teaching experience. Allows one to understand how what you’re learning applies to the field you teach in.

I can't speak for all fans but I love players like that. Stats are what rule the day but I'll take a hustler and scraper every day of the week.
It's not even that her stats were bad either.

I can understand wanting to play more and there are plenty of P5 teams she would play more or even be a starter. If she went down to the MVC level, I think she would guarantee starter minutes. Drake and UNI would be lucky to have her.

Some of my favorite hustle players over the years…Taylor, Fritz, Paustian, Ross, Pop, Schroll and the senior Joens. Joens the third exhibits many of the same traits.

She was pigeon holed as a defender at ISU. Parents thought she needed to go somewhere else with a different offense so she could show that part of her game in order to raise WNBA stock. That is the reason-

Well she didn't exactly explode into a scorer at UNC either. In fact she averaged less at UNC than any year she was at ISU and last year was by far her lowest FGA of any season at 9.3 attempts a game. Her last season at ISU she was attempting 11.5 a game.

Some want to blame Bill's system as why people leave but can anyone name a transfer that left ISU that just took off and played substantially better with their new school? Not talking about transferring to a smaller school where the level of competition is not as good but another power conference. Kylie Feuerbach started 24 games for us as a freshman then was a bench player at Iowa for 2 years before starting 34 games this year and even then statistically she didn't take a huge jump in production. Already talked about Fritz and the other Joens girl amongst other former players that found out the grass is not always greener.

She had the same task at UNC. Every time I watched the talking heads mentioned how Donarski was given the task of guarding the best. BUT I felt she had more energy to put into the offensive end…and was def one of their go to options.

This is what the parents were thinking when she made the move. Being parents they do not always see their kid as others see their kid. The outcome was the same at UNC. Defense first scoring second because that is the player she is regardless of where she is. A coach not ISU affiliated told me this directly because I happen to run into them at another sporting event I was attending.
