CW on the pod yesterday seem to insinuate that there was a report of ISU having contact with a player that was NOT true. Not sure who he was talking about, the Utah Valley guard?

Some interesting transfer destinations:

Buzz at Maryland has brought in Myles Rice (WSU->IU->Terps) and Pharrell Payne (TAMU). We've played or recruited both of them - I think they are two great pieces to build around.

OSU has brought in 4 guys that can all play - and lost no one to the portal yet. They could really bounce back next year. Their transfers are the Roy kid from Green Bay, and others from Miss State, Seton Hall and LSU.

Georgetown has made a splash - getting Langston Love (Baylor), Harris-Smith (Maryland) and KJ Lewis (Arizona) along with a PF from Ga Tech.

The Ognacevic kid from Lipscomb is going to the Washington Huskies.

Georgetown feels like it can't be far from a return to glory. Big money and big history at that school with no football program to worry about.

CW was disputing the report that Nelson (Utah Valley Guard) was visiting Thursday. Other sites have him in Ames after the dead period. We have a source off and we'll see on Thurday.
ISU has contacted Nelson either way.

We need a guard who can shoot threes over 37% on medium-high to high volume.

If we can't afford that, we need a guard who is 6'6" and can defend 1-4 with either elite athletic ability, or is 33%+ shooter

If we can't afford that, we need a big, tall PG who can take care of the basketball, so that Tamin can spend the off-season focusing on being a scoring guard

What if we can get a 6'6 inch guard who can handle the ball and shoots 40 percent from three? Can we book the national title now or should we wait

That'd be a definite "get."

Ideally, he also should be a slasher, bucket-getter, lock-down pick-pocket defender, rim-protector, good in transition, shoot 92% from the line on high-volume and have two years of eligibility remaining.

Have I not been paying attention or does it seem like there are quite a few schools with a lot of spots still open? KU, K State and Iowa come to mind.
I wonder if some schools are thinking the market for players is going to soften, so they are stonewalling their prospects.
