Great player on a mess of a team. Seemed like he was the only guy playing hard a lot of the time.

The big guy was still learning, Jizzle was all about Jizzle...

Would be a great Cujo replacement, but I am sure too pricey for ISU.
Most likely. He probably will make a Skilling somewhere.

I was scrolling on Twitter last night and apparently their boards have been blowing up. Assistants and a lot of their roster is leaving.

Some interesting transfer destinations:

Buzz at Maryland has brought in Myles Rice (WSU->IU->Terps) and Pharrell Payne (TAMU). We've played or recruited both of them - I think they are two great pieces to build around.

OSU has brought in 4 guys that can all play - and lost no one to the portal yet. They could really bounce back next year. Their transfers are the Roy kid from Green Bay, and others from Miss State, Seton Hall and LSU.

Georgetown has made a splash - getting Langston Love (Baylor), Harris-Smith (Maryland) and KJ Lewis (Arizona) along with a PF from Ga Tech.

The Ognacevic kid from Lipscomb is going to the Washington Huskies.

Agree on Ok St. They seemingly did a good job targeting value talent. It helps they may not have had to spend a ton to retain.

Ok St and Georgetown are examples in which pay-to-play makes it harder to maintain success. 10 years ago it would be more unlikely to lose good players to programs in “rebuild” mode.

Now, cash is king. For programs like Iowa St, there will be programs willing to overpay to land proven P5 Jackson types, let alone schools able to pay more to our best players

And “new money” basketball-only schools, that used to be a step below in status, but have a donor or two willing to spend millions

I’d guess most years we can only afford to bring back 3 to 4 rotation guys, draft a few mid-round level prospects in the portal, and hope to steal on undrafted free agents via high school recruits

Cincy got commits this morning from Sencire Harris (Illinois->WVU->Cincy) and Kerr Krissa (Arizona->WVU->UK->Cincy)

If Jizzle stays, that's a very undersized, turnover prone backcourt.
Not enough shots to go around for that group.

Krissa shot 27.9% this season. Not from 3, overall. That might be a record.

Harris was at 39.7%. 11.3% from 3!

Jizzle: 40%, 28.2% from 3. Looks like Steph Curry compared to the other two.

I don't think Cincinnati is getting any better.

Not sure how much money Krissa has made based off his early reputation, but it's a lot more than he's worth.

Jizzle is so hot and cold. He always seems to be super hot against us for some reason.

Only in the second half of those games. Everyone showed up for the start of the games, upper deck was usually pretty full. But everyone bailed by halftime because we were inevitably getting stomped on the field and most of the students were piss drunk by 2:30PM. Not surprising when your team stinks and you've been drinking since starting up your tailgate at 6AM that morning.
Some of us did like to sleep in and wait until 8 to start tailgating. Sorry. I guess I was kind of weak.

Baylor was under the impression that he wasn't going to be tampered with behind the scene's and offered by an unknown SEC team. Sound familier to a situation that might have happened at Iowa State?
It is telling that some combination of ISU's culture, coaches, and NIL-power was able to stave off a major poach attempt while Baylor was not. I doubt our collective has the pockets that Baylor's does. Says something about our program and something about Joshua

Wonder at what point Kansas starts throwing funny money around just to field a roster. Right now they've got Peterson, Bidunga, McDowell, Jackson and a bunch of walk ons

Pretty sure they threw big money at Bidunga. Wonder how much money they have to spend on NIL this season?
