Even though February is my birthday month, it is still my least favorite month of the year.
  • It is in the heart of winter and Iowa typically gets the most snow during this month.
  • Valentine's day is annoying and can be expensive.
  • It is also in the middle of cold and flu season (Influenza going through our house right now)
  • Football season ends and March madness hasn't started yet.
Is there a month you dislike more than February?

Yes, and the current weather is why. It warms up, melts most or all of the snow from January, and then you get slammed with a storm that brings cold and ******-ness, but not enough snow to do snow sports again. It's an outdoors purgatory.

Last few years I've been mountain biking by the middle of March.

Gonna go with April as the worst.

Still cold (not as much as Feb), rains a lot, brown grass, dirty snowbank remnants, and lots of salt and sand in the street from winter. Also, March Madness over, football a long ways off and the worst of all: Paying taxes on the 15th.

Back in the Midwest now, but let me tell you -- February was welcome when we lived in Deep South Texas. Wasn't so hot and was really nice during that month. More importantly, both of our kids were born there in February.

And I was the biggest Cyclone fan down there. Also got clued in to Mark Adams when he coached at Pan Am. Not a great guy, people. Great bench coach, but....

U. S. F'n. L., baby!

I voted yes but not because of the weather. February weather never bothered me. I have a February birthday, which would be great, but a lot of family have died in February - both grandmothers, father, friends of the family. February rolls around and I just wondering who it will be this year.

Feb. is my bday month too and I still say it's the worst. July probably second worst in my book, peak heat and humidity/dew point.

I'm going to go with an unpopular pick. I'd say July. It's hot as hell. There haven't been interesting sports since March. And you are still 2 months away from football. Plus any teachers you know are still enjoying summer break while I am working.

I have friends that are constantly ******** about winter. I don't love winter weather, but I do love Iowa State basketball and that takes a lot of the sting out of the winter weather.
