I'm marking this day on my calendar as the day that I learned Chumbawumba sang more than one song.

I continue to recommend that album as a whole. For many listeners, nothing is likely to resonate to the level of "Tubthumping," but to my ear at least half the songs are as good or stronger than that, if you invest the effort for repeated listens.

And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral caves...

But something stirs and something tries
And starts to come toward the light

Lissie is from near the Quad Cities and actually lives on a farm north of the QC's on the Iowa side.

I went to her live... solo acoustic in an old church with maybe 200 people in the audience, which was pretty neat... and she told the little story about it. I was one of two Iowans there when she called it out, which was once more than I expected.

It is actually nearest to Decorah in Winneshiek County. She grows hay there.

A little Pokey LaFarge, who is from St Louis so the Mississippi shows up in his lyrics a lot

The Missouri is my right arm the Ohio River is my left
I'm living on the Mississippi River where live is the best
