Chosen by players.
85 schollys total. 61% white on average.

As you can see, only once in the last 11 years has Iowa’s official roster contained fewer than 30 Black student-athletes on scholarship. There were 28 in ’18. The average for the 11 years was 33.5.

The graph gives us an idea of locker room makeup annually. That can be considered when looking at student-athlete representation voted on by the student athletes.

Right from Howe's article says that an average roster at Iowa has about 30 black players and 80 white players so the roster is roughly 27% black.

Percentage of Leadership Group that was black players from 2009- 2019 was 26.7%.

Percentage of permanent team captains that were black from 1999-2019 was 25.2%.

Percentage of players that went to B1G Media Days that were black from 2009-2019 was 30.3%.

There is nothing disproportionate about those numbers.

110 on the roster, we aren't just talking about scholarship players.

I thought Kirk chose the captains? He's changed them mid-year before

I am not surprised you didn't actually read the article:

"At the end of each season, Iowa names permanent team captains. These student-athletes are chosen by their peers, according to the athletic department."

What about this statistic?

Of the 127 Blacks who arrived at Iowa on scholarship, 68 finished here or appeared on the current roster. That means 46.5 percent of them didn’t finish their careers here. For Whites, 34.2 did not finish their careers with the Hawkeyes.

This has been discussed for a couple weeks so Howe isn't shedding light on anything new.

They knew black grad rates were an issue.

Gotcha. Kirk has and can change them during the year

Also you need to stop lying about Wadley's brother. That is libel

Some of that data from Rob’s article really makes it look bad for KF and the Iowa program.

Not exactly sure.

Goodson's mom seems to be a fan of Rob.

I clicked on the tweet you had. Reading farther into her stuff, she mentioned that one common issue is the players not getting support when they did speak out. Kirk said nobody spoke out...........who is correct?

Well you have around 60 players who've mentioned that, some stating specific instances, and then you have one coach claiming he's never heard anything. Yeah, probably going to go with the player's accounts.

The part you are missing is that the complex isn't entirely HUD housing. The rent there for unsubsidized housing was rather cheap by IC standards. Brian could have very well been living there paying full rent. I don't know.

It got publicity because of BF but you’re right he may have been paying full rent. Regardless, they were using that as a recruiting tool, so you know there were FB players taking advantage of it.

Oh man, I feel like you're just a few revelations about what those numbers mean and why they're relevant. Godspeed man, someday...

Well according to Akrum, she had to buy him Domino's from halfway across the country when he couldn't eat.

Didn't Sharonda's live video talk about how Akrum would call her in tears when he was at Iowa?

Something isn't adding up here...hmmmm.
I am only quoting this post as it is in thread and proximate to my question.

Thought experiment:
Could you engage in a thought experiment where you weren’t a Kirk/hawk fan? If so, what would you say about the matter at hand?

it seems many Iowa fans are no longer Iowa fans. They no longer “wave for Iowa” they are Kirk and Brian fans. Iowa football has become a cult of personality. There is no longer a university identity but a ferentz is bigger than anything persona that is being defended irrespective.
