Big loss for the Yanks:

Ah, ****. :( My fav players all seem to get injured, should probably just stop following sports all together.

Could kinda see this coming though. Bummer for Luis, seems like a good young kid and best starters fastball in MLB, might not have that a year from now when he tries to comeback. Gotta bad feeling about the season and crucial injuries already. Already less their CF and their #2 and #3 starters and spring training's hardly started. More Tommy Johns than I can list the last couple of years and three to non-pitchers to boot.

Gonna need Paxton to come back ASAP and for Tanaka's elbow to last one more season. Guessing they will want to hang onto the suspended German also.

And looking more and more like opening day outfield for Yanks will be Clint Frazier, Brett Gardner, Mike Tauchman and not Stanton, Judge and Hicks. Hicks was obviously out since Tommy John but now Stanton and Judge will be IL to.

Was thinking about buzzing down to Florida for some spring games but spring games are bad enough with all of the no-name minor leaguers in camp without having stars out. Kind rethinking whether it's worth the cost.

Is this Severinos 2nd TJ?

No. Don't think he's ever had any surgery although injuries (rotator cuff inflammation and than a lat strain) kept him sidelined almost all of last year. When they did the TJ they also removed some bone chips in his elbow.

Well, ****. Again. If it goes the way everything else has the last couple of years for Yankee injuries he'll have to have the rib removed and we won't see him till the 2nd half of the season. Rest and rehab hasn't worked for a Yankee player injury in years.

At least no one on the roster has actually died although Thairo Estrada did get shot when two teens tried to rob him and his wife in Venezuela.

Kind of stoked to watch some baseball this year now that the Royals have some young talent on the way. I got a pretty big kick out of this thread on the most aesthetically pleasing pitches on twitter. that Maddux 2-seamer was something else.

Wonder how long it will be before we have players testing positive and blowing the whole thing up? Lack of testing and rationing of it might be the only thing delaying that right now.

I think it's pretty likely the season gets cancelled.
