I have a tough time differentiating between a true rivalry and teams I just want Iowa State to beat. I respect some teams, hate others, and some I’m relatively indifferent to aside from a personal relationship with a fan or alum. So...

1. KU. Wife is an alum. Bill Self is a cheater. Must destroy in any arena of competition.
2. K-State. I generally respect their fan base. I want Campbell to be the next Bill Snyder. My final top two when picking schools was Iowa State or K-State.
3. Texas. They think they’re something.
4. Oklahoma. They’re something.
5. Oklahoma State. Probably the best true rival over the last decade or so in terms of competitive balance between the schools in both football and basketball.
6. West Virginia. Riot bros!
7. Baylor. Hot take: not a fan of rapists or those who cover for them.
8. Texas Tech. Baylor without the rape.
9. TCU. Texas Tech without the (now departed) douchebag coach.

Also, **** Iowa.

I feel more intensity from basketball just because there's been more back and forth and ISU being generally good.

Football's starting to crank up with teams which is fun. Baylor this year might be intense after last year's mess.

The ranking looks about how I'd expect. I think I'd put OSU above WVa because of Big 8 tie-in, although WVU and ISU got paired-up by default in the 10 team Big 12, so the intensity may have accelerated.

He did a decent job with the analysis. Agree that the football portion of ISU-OU is about as un-rivalry as you can get.

I'd be curious to see a similar poll with roughly same # of respondents from the other 9 schools, and how they'd rank their intra-league rivalries.

Meh, for some reason my attitude toward their football program is totally different than toward football. Their fan base does have the most dooshers by % but they mostly busy themselves with hoops.

I gotta admit I don't "hate" any of them but Rapelor.

Farmageddon is fun. The Riot Bowl is fun. UT & OU coming to town is fun...
