Help me compile a list of essential items you always make sure you have backups of in your house. Mine currently are: Toilet paper, toothpaste, and deodorant. (This post may be related to a recent marital discussion) The wife recent chastised me for asking her to pick up deodorant for me immediately upon opeing my back up. She also can't understand why I would want multiple back up deodorants in the storage closet.

I'm the same way. Always have an upoened deodorant cause you don't want to be left without.

The other thing I keep a spare around is an LP tank for the grill.

You must be fairly new to the marriage thing. She obviously doesn't realize how badly men smell when they run out of deodorant. Add to that:
Tooth brush
Paper towels
Softener salt
Ink cartridges
Jameson

Gunna be 6 years in August...
I might need to add laundry detergent. Especially with a young kid in the house.

I could agree with the tank for the grill except I have a grill that is half gas half charcoal, so worst case scenario, I'll sue the charcoal side (which I prefer anyway)

deodorant
toothpaste
shampoo
toilet paper
pet supplies - cat food/kitty litter
extra propane tank

I'm also particular about having milk in the house. If I want a glass of milk or some cereal, I don't want to see an empty space in the fridge.

I've been using the online grocery deliver, whether it be Jet, WM, Safeway, Kroger, etc, and to get the free shipping usually you have to hit a minimum $-amount. So I typically throw one/all of these in to go over the threshold.

BTW - do you know why it's called a threshold? The floors of homes a couple hundred years ago were covered in thresh (if it was a nice home). And to keep the thresh from being dragged outside a board was placed across the bottom of the doorway to hold the thresh inside.

If you have infant children plenty of diapers and supplies on hand. Haven't personally had the problem but last thing you want is to be home alone with the kid and they have a blowout and find that you are out of diapers and/or wipes and have to improvise.

He's married, he won't be needing those any more.
In the movie Big Red One, they were used as emergency gloves when the soldiers were forced to deliver a baby in a tank. Point is, you never know.

There may be a box in the bottom of my nightstand that is about 10 years old that I keep around just in case I have to deliver a baby in a tank.
