I think my parents got me a generic Redskins jersey back when I was little. I don't think it was an actual player. One of those ones you got out of the JC Penney catalog.

I think the actual one I first got with a player on it would be a Priest Holmes Chiefs jersey.

I had a Zorich and Payton jersey when I was growing up. As an adult I have a Payton jersey, but I rarely wear it. Seems a bit tacky wear around (other than in my house when I'm watching a game) IMO.

As long as the player is older than you, I don't think it's tacky to wear the jersey. Now if you're an old guy that is wearing a jersey of a rookie, i find that tacky. (unless it's family)
