I can understand that. He most likely put his heart and soul into that scene only to see it turned into a comedic foil year later.

I saw this yesterday and it made me sad. Downfall is one of my favorite movies and he is fantastic in it. If I remember right, he is also something like the first German actor to play Hitler since world war 2 and he spent four months working on the role.

I'm not usually a huge fan of subtitles but you could not have done that movie any other way. Fantastic and really puts you into the "feels" of what the bunker would have been like those last few weeks.

Today if you're in Berlin, the bunker is obviously no more and there is an apartment building over it. There is a very modest sign over the Fuhrerbunker and little to no mention on google maps.
