Becky doesn't even wait for Smackdown. It so ****ing awesome to see how over Becky is right now. I agree that this matchup makes me want Mania to be tomorrow.

What do you guys think about Renae when calling Ambrose matches. To me it's so awkward and they try to tow the line between kayfabe and irl in an odd way

In general I think she's been good, kinda bitchy but works well

Seems like a work to me. I haven’t watched since last years mania, but still follow these threads. Why would they officially announce it this early? Seems like a swerve at mania and Ambrose walks out as champion with Vince or Triple H by his side.

That’s kind of my point. They don’t usually do this when people leave.

First, how often do big names leave? Nobody would care much if, say, Curt Hawkins' contract ran out and he just "disappeared", and that's probably how WWE would play it and nobody would even realized he was gone until long after he was. But someone that moves the needle like Dean Ambrose? People are going to realize fairly quickly that he hasn't been around.

Second, word got out much earlier today before WWE addressed it that he wasn't resigning his contract and he'd be leaving after Mania. It was all over the internet before WWE addresssed it. Third, to go along with those rumors was word from an unnamed wrestler (pretty much universally accepted to be Seth Rollins) that Dean's "tired of the hokey ****". Dean wanted to have a serious heel run after he returned from injury, and instead it's been gas masks and ass injections, and supposedly it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Then there's the fact that he lost clean to Seth Rollins last night, and then proceeded to get run down by Nia Jax.

I don't disagree that this could be an elaborate work - it's the kind of thing that WWE would do. But there's the fact that Dean almost died, which will always give things a new perspective for someone. Add on top of that one of his best friends is struggling with cancer. Then top that with WWE is having him do storylines he has absolutely no interest in doing. Put yourself in this position - would you stick around?

I 100% agree that he’s been used terribly, and I understand why he’s want to leave. Not arguing that at all.

I just feel like WWE is responding to this very strangely. Not sure why they’d advertise a beloved superstar leaving because of something they messed up.

I’m sure plenty more information will come out about this, and we’ll know more soon.

Hideo Itami/Kenta was granted his release last night. Guess is that he will be back with NOAH or maybe NJPW since they need some star power for their junior division with Kushida leaving.

Here's the WWE YouTube stream for Halftime Heat 2019:

"Watch a live 6-Man Tag Team Match pitting Aleister Black, Ricochet and Velveteen Dream against NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole during halftime of the Big Game."

WWE is currently streaming older matches from NXT.

Raw is coming back to Des Moines. April 22 so it will be third raw after mania. Last couple of Raws in Des Moines have been sub par but if when Mania is over and Rollins and Lynch get belts and in Becky's case she would be on raw I think it maybe worth the gamble.

So Vince picked the worst possible way to shoehorn Charlotte Flair into the Becky Lynch-Ronda Rousey match at WrestleMania: suspend Becky for 60 days (5 days after WM ends) and fill her spot with Charlotte.

It's like a nightmarish version of WM 20. He just alienated nearly every fan.

In better news, Jay White beat Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion yesterday morning in New Japan. This result makes it clear that they are continuing their effort to expand into Western audiences.
