CFP is, and will continue to, doing everything possible to make sure at least 1 b1g team gets in. Sooners could win out and I still doubt they get in.

understand it's a long shot.. that's why i said all three below lose:

Michigan (2 losses)
Georgia (2 losses)
ND (1 loss)

That way it's alabama, clemson, OU + either a 1 loss ohio state or ND.

It's a long shot, but would be fun if we got to the Sugar Bowl some how... only real chance is winning out including a win the B12 championship. But was just curious how the sugar bowl picked from the remaining teams in the unlikely event OU makes the playoff.

How about Alabama lose to Auburn and Georgia so we'd have an Iowa State - Alabama Sugar Bowl.

It's sort of weird. The conferences decide the procedure used to fill these contract bowls. The SEC sends the team ranked highest in the CFP poll that isn't in the playoffs. The Big 12 sends the 2nd place team which I'm assuming is the team that loses the Big 12 Championship Game.

But it does sort of make sense. The Big 12 is a single division where everybody plays everybody so the second place team has earned their place. With 2 divisions it is often the case that the 2 best teams are in the same division.

Repeating from the other 'what if Disneyland!?' thread but let's have ISU beat Baylor tomorrow just to get bowl-eligible.

A loss would actually possibly leave ISU scrambling a bit just to achieve that.

Or we win the next four take the four seed since nobody else wants a piece of Saben. Trust the process.

My understanding is that if the Big Xii Champion is in the CFB Playoff, the highest ranked remaining Big Xii team per the CFP Playoff Rankings will go to the Sugar Bowl. If this is the case, Iowa State has a better chance of going to the Sugar Bowl by finishing 9-3 and 3rd in the Big Xii than playing in the Big Xii Title game, losing and finishing 8-4. Of course, playing in the Big Xii Championship, winning it and finishing 9-3 will definitely send the Cyclones to the Sugar Bowl.
