Anybody else watch the ESPN U series "Being PJ Fleck?" I think the guy is completely over the top and phony, but all of his former coaches/players say his energy and passion is just who he is. Curious to see what other people think who have seen the four part series.

That is just how Fleck is but it is annoying as hell to me. I would never play for him. He is a weird dude.

got him a 7 figure salary coaching in the big 10. seems okay to me.

i watched part of it. he had a few comments that were spot-on with what campbell has said. "hey, we're in a geographic area with few recruits. let's acknowledge that and move forward."

I worked with a guy who played on his 1-11 team at Western Michigan and says he's like that all the time. He loved playing for him and this was a guy who didn't recruit him and coached him on a bad team, so I think he's legitimately like that.

Well obviously some people like his personality. But it isn't for me.

Didn't he have a child pass away? I mean you gotta look at life differently after events like that right?

Oh, he's genuine. I would go so far as to say I think Fleck & myself share similar attitudes/philosophies. I would definitely play for him.

I would definitely play for Campbell. I'd play for Rhoads & McCarney.

Chizik or Ferentz? **** those guys.

Gopher fans are waiting to see if he will be Tim Brewster- part 2.
I hope he can coach as well as Kill and provide the Big 10 the competition they need.

He's literally the anti-Ferentz.

I don't know if it's going to work, but it would be cool to see people in the Twin Cities give a **** about college football. TCF Bank is a really nice stadium, but it holds 50,000 people.

On Saturday, September 2, there will be 131,000 people attending a P5 conference football game in Iowa.

Minnesota will be lucky to get 50,000 at their home opener.

Was in the car earlier this morning and the topic of conversation on the radio was how even though the Gophers just came off a 9 win season and have a new/upbeat coach, no one is paying attention. Supposedly the AD is selling tickets as low as $15 to the opener and "several thousand" tickets still remain. The college sports culture in this area is just so strange.

Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense to me. There are lots of major colleges in large metro areas that outdraw the Gophers.

They made their stadium 50,000 to keep out Badgers and Hawkeyes and they still can't do it.
