Alabama has been a master at paying $5 to $50,000 for key players under the table for 50 years. However, competing against Georgia, Miami,Texas, and Texas A&M for cash/players is no comparison. Alabama is not one of the rich guys.

Why do you think Sabin retired? He saw the writing on the wall. A salary cap with a third party approval process for nil contracts will level the playing field for everyone. You still can't stop cheating, but what safeguards will the new ruling entity put in? Who knows?
Maybe because he's 73-freaking years old? Just a guess.

He had also previously said a year before he was nowhere near retirement though too. Then complained about every recruit conversation was about money…then he retired. Probably a combination of both but NIL made it easy for him

Didn’t realize we had so many that

1. Know the details about Alabama’s roster management ane recruitment of Brock.

2. Personally know Nick Saban and his personal choices regarding retirement.

3. Know the inner workings of Alabama’s NIL and how much they can offer a 4th string (perceived) quarterback.

See where 3 star S deco otter from us to Michigan State. F###### Spartans!
“Deco otter”? Did you maybe mean disco otter?
Trading 11-3 for 5-7. If he prefers that, he's not a winner.
I’m pretty sure what he prefers is an uncrowded safety room, not waiting his turn, and being closer to home.

No reason to bash a kid.

“Tuscaloosa was awesome,” Thomalla said. “There was great energy from the coaches and players all weekend.

“What excites me most about Bama is the chance to compete at the highest level. The coaches really believe in me, and with their resources and track record of developing quarterbacks for the NFL, they’re a program that can take me to the next level.

“I’m still committed to Iowa State and will go official there this weekend, just taking it one step at a time.”

It’s fascinating how, by sheer happenstance, they didn’t mention the ‘25 five star he’d be stuck behind.

Or, that they’d bring in another 5 star next year. And the year after that.

Completely accidental, I’m sure.
