It's jealousy. And it's all they have. Because they know the hard truth. Despite the fact that they have dramatically more resources than ISU, they have become little brother. Our football and men's basketball programs are both better than theirs, and are getting more national respect than theirs. We will see what happens with their MBB program, but as long as Campbell and Ferentz are in place, ISU has a better football program.

I can't agree that Iowa's football program is worse although it's been at least pretty even the last several years. Both have spent a fair amount of time in the Top 25 or better.

Overall I'd say it's insecurity over anything; peak Haydenism. Lots of arrested development type stuff when it comes to their fandom.

I never understood why we didn't have a Hooters in Ames, seems like that would have been a profitable franchise for someone. The Des Moines location closed a long time ago and is now the Jethros location. My wife would never dine in for obvious reasons but she liked their wings so she had no issues picking up a carry out order.
She wouldn’t go because the soda was flat? That’s understandable

When Iowa State played at UNLV in 2008, Hooters hotel and casino gave out free beer to anyone wearing Iowa State gear because one of the co-founders went to Iowa State. Of course ISU fans overran the place, they ran out of glasses so they were giving out full pitchers of beer and ISU fans were walking around using full pitchers for their glasses. Was one of my most fun away games I've been to.
Can confirm. Was there also!

Where they love the governor
Am I the only one who got nervous watching him not retract the box cutter blade...and then tossing clothes on top? If I did that, there’s no way my finger or that jacket would escape unscathed.

I thought he was using one of those auto retractable ones that we have to use at work.

Edit: rewatched, it's definitely not an auto retractable knife.

Are you not familiar with the Politics etc in Ames with the City Council etc? I know of another town that was to get a Hooters location, at one time, and they flat out refused to allow it, the City and the Main City industry, Mayo flat out refused to allow them in, Rochester, MN.

I am sure it would be a very similar issue for Ames. Some cites treat them more like a strip club than a restaurant, and we've seen how Ames feels about strip clubs.

Seems there are a lot of these types of restaurants in certain areas/states, and others absolutely none. In Dallas/Texas area alone there are many many of this style with many different names/companies, not many of any name anywhere in or near Iowa.

For those that don’t know, Jon Gruden has been doing an unboxing series where he receives care packages from programs, opens them up and talks about them a bit.

CMC and Iowa State just sent him one and it comes at no better time because Jon loves Tyrese Haliburton. Lot of pumping up of the basketball program, football program and even a Hooters shoutout.

Nice. Have to love Gruden's enthusiasm!

Loved how he just rattled off name after name of past Cyclones! He did his homework!

Didn’t hooters go under? At the very least, they are closing locations, not opening them. I will say their wings are great…blows BWW out of the water. My wife has no issues going in there to eat if it’s between the two of those. Foods just better.

I don’t have a problem with it either way but my skin crawls sometimes thinking about gross old dudes ogling the staff there. I get it, that’s part of the appeal, but I think it’s just a nasty situation.

Yeah, it’s insecurity. Their high ground is eroding away. It used to be that ISU could have decent teams here and there, but if you wanted to go to the nfl, you went to Iowa. They were the ones who put players in the league and we weren’t. And the players we got in were usually not even starters. Well, Montgomery and Lazard changed that, and then Purdy, Hall and McDonald took it to a new level. We’re pretty much to the point where ISU has just as good of a reputation with nfl GMs as Iowa does. Maybe better.

Now, all they have to lord over us is “P2”.

Didn't know what Gruden was up to these days.. What the NFL did to him was ******* ridiculous. Definitely my all-time favorite NFL football coach/personality..

Any girl working there is beyond aware of the ogling eye contact before she puts on the uniform. She signed up for the ogling.

I was a tour guide at ISU back in my day. We used to point this out on the tour. Some parents laughed, some were disgusted. Probably lost a few good ones because of that factoid!

Entrepreneurial spirit alive in Ames Iowa!

Man made a fortune with **** wings and beautiful, ample, overflowing breasts

That's the goddam American Dream. We should fight wars to protect this spirit
