Dean doesn’t have as much mileage as most 5th year seniors and hasn’t really ever been injured. Probably the best available stop gap at 184 for next year. If he wants to be a Cyclone, I’m all for itIdk why but getting a guy like that scares me.

Ok that’s a little reassuring. I mean with Feldkamp and Bockman getting hurt towards the end sucked. I don’t really know this Dean but if you guys think he would help out then I’ll keep my eyes outDean doesn’t have as much mileage as most 5th year seniors and hasn’t really ever been injured. Dean is intriguing for sure.I posted this before but Dean 184 and Cotton 197 are a real possibility. Both will visit
Didn’t start wrestling until 8th grade. Still very green as far as developing. Lot of athleticismdean has improved a lot over the past four years, never had a winning record until this year
Does this Dean have AA potential?Didn’t start wrestling until 8th grade. Still very green as far as developing. Lot of athleticism
The kid has been in college 3 years. Wrestled two. No where near the podium. After a year in college, high school rankings don't mean jack sh!t. He's not a program carrier as you somehow are implying based off of what he did in high school. We're not getting trophies based off of his high school performance.
He was the 7 seed at NCAAs last year and had some good wins, so the potential is there. 184 is going to be loaded again though. I’d say ceiling is probably 5th or 6th, floor probably a 2-2 type performanceDoes this Dean have AA potential?
He would be a decent option.Anyone have info Soldano from Rutgers? Pre Season 14
Putting the title of program carrier on a kid who's never wrestled a single collegiate match, which you're trying to say (I think), is certainly a choice.Stop. You’re using hindsight which is always 20/20. A kid with his pedigree and HS ranking is expect to be a stud, a program/team maker. Saying it hasn’t turned out that way is fair and no one is arguing otherwise.
Why? Everyone did that with David Carr. Everyone knew he was that type of recruit when we landed him as a high schooler. Almost any program that lands a top 10, but especially a top 5 p4p kid looks at that wrestlers as a program shifter. Kids who can win titles and get 20+ points at nationals every year. I don't. But I've also watched enough college wrestling to understand (especially in Ames) that high profile recruits doesn't mean success. If you're not waiting at minimum one year to decide if a kid is what the hype says he is, you're going to be disappointed. Why? Everyone did that with David Carr.
