I seem to recall there was some noise about Eddy Curry coming to ISU.

Harrison Barnes of course.

Not sure if Doug McBuckets was ever a prospective Cyclone but if Greg McD stayed as coach, seems like a good chance.

We have quite a list!

Doug is a what if for UNI not ISU, he was committed to UNI and had to be let out of his LOI to go play with his dad at Creighton.

Antwon Oliver another guy from Racine Wi.

He scored a bunch of points in mop-up duty during a non-con game as a frosh. There could be a list of just guys from the G-Mac era that looked the look but nothing materialized.

Marcus Jefferson (2001-2004) would every now and then score 20 points and look like an all-conference guy. Then for the next two weeks he'd average 5 PPG.

7'1" with elite PG skills

Otherworldly offensive skills

Alarming quickness

The best versions of Dirk, Joker, and pre-injuries Arvydas Sabonis all rolled into one

Should have had his number in the rafters in Hilton

I like to think Cam Lard would have panned out with more concrete boundaries and a direction for him (CSP seemed to waffle or try different 'strategies' vs. establishing boundaries but could be wrong) and been a very dominant force.

Otoh I don't think he played ever again after '19 so maybe it was a lost cause no matter what.
Given his criminal history after ISU, I think, unfortunately, he was a lost cause no matter what.

Although this is pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if McDermott had stayed if both Doug and Harrison would have come to ISU. I have a feeling Greg McDermott knew the writing on the wall, so neither player committed to ISU knowing the coach was on his way out.
