For what little value a moral victory has, that's a top tier moral victory. Didn't hurt our seed line or standing any, really. Played way, way above expectation. Made the opponent think about losing multiple times. Took a career game from 1 guy to beat you. And you did all of that without two of your top 3 guards and filling in the gaps completely with bench players. And even did that with your main center not contributing much.

That's a great game for us. It's hard to feel bad about how this went given the circumstances. I hope it did wonders for Heise and Chat in particular. Maybe Milan as well, who worked out his funk in the 2H.

And again, for Kelderman, who did his job in a situation he should never have to.

No coincidence that we played a much better 2nd half. Completely new rotations with a day to prepare against the #3 defense I'm the country. Highly encouraged by the effort today.

Only 3 turnovers by ISU in the second half, finished with 12. Houston had 17.

A lot of our first half turnovers weren’t actually turnovers, they were just uncalled fouls. 24 minutes into the game we had 4 more fouls than Houston.

A few bone head plays but plenty of travels because Houston was allowed to shove and trip.

I want to put that refs face where Heise's was and hit repeatedly the same way for an hour and then ask that ****** about what a cylinder is.

Do you know what the cylinder is? Serious question. It doesn’t seem like a lot on here understand it.

Jefferson was 1-9 from the floor. Jackson was 1-4. They both came up short with a lot of their shots in the lane. I thought we needed to pound it inside to those guys before the game but now I think we might have won if we had just moved the ball around the perimeter and looked for cutters.

Milan was amazing in the second half. If his outside shot is working then we typically don’t see more than a few turnaround shots from him in front of the arc. He really played strong and efficiently on offense inside the paint today. Would love to see more of that from him.

That cylinder call still irritates the **** out of me. Cryer clearly steps into Nate’s cylinder. They don’t call it on the floor. Review for a flagrant and decide to make something out of nothing. I’m usually pretty pro ref on here and I understand missed calls. But going to the monitor and deciding to assert yourself like that is horse****

Milan seemed to have a bit more of a jump in his step in the 2nd half, might have looked the best he had all year. Knocked down shots, got the FT line, was a mismatch problem. Hopefully he can keep that going.
Matchups dictating, free throw line Milan backdown package could be a real weapon in the postseason. He didn’t shoot great today but his height means he’s a complete mismatch for most teams. I hope the staff makes it a permanent part of our offensive game plan.

Jefferson is a fantastic facilitator as well. I thought at times today our ball movement was BETTER than it is with Keshon and Cujo which is crazy.

Today only confirmed that this team is still one of the best 5 or 6 in the country at full strength.

If that "cylinder" foul was called by the book, the rule needs to be changed. How can someone have a chance to defend if the ball handler can just swing an elbow at the defender?

He has to allow him room to move. Heise's lower body was fine, but his head and chest were too close. If cryer stepped forward to make contact, that would have been a foul on him, but he didn't Screenshot 2025-02-22 at 3.41.51 PM.png

i think the coaches were really emphasizing bleeding clock and shortening the game. i think this messed with his aggressiveness a lot.

I don't think so because he is like that a lot and not just this game. He gets 3 ft from the basket and always passes it. He's a big strong dude and needs to go score and get contact.
