It's human nature, but our fanbase is especially good at rationalizing poor outcomes. Once we were out of the one seed discussion, people were speculating about a 2 or 3 being essentially the same. With some sprinkling of "being hot at the right time".

It's a single game. But there seems to be very little recognition about what these games collectively mean for seeding, which translates directly into tournament success.
