Heise needs to start hitting 3's. He wasn't bad at it at UNI, but with Milan out teams are going to crowd the paint.

I am not sure that Milan would have made a difference today. But him being out does make us easier to guard. Heise does a lot of great things but until he can prove he can shoot here, teams aren’t going to focus on him.

Hopefully they will flip next year.
Not sure. Are the 5 we are playing on the road rhe 5 teams we played home and away last year? Are there 3 rotating pods for each team?

*nvm. The 4 corner schools brought in a new schedule dynamic this season.

except the plays are there, he makes the somewhat easy play hard. For example he had a clear path to the hoop, and instead of going up and putting in from the right side he did a dipsy doo reverse layup. I wanted to strangle him for that. LOL. It was just an out of control play that didn't need to be that way and he has had a lot of them. With that said, he makes great plays too, just needs to be more consistent and in control.
Would challenge you to go back and watch some of his best games. That’s the way he plays, for better or worse. Incredible when the shot goes in, frustrating as hell when it doesn’t

The thing that doesn't get said enough about Milan is his contribution on offense goes beyond hitting some threes for us. Even when he's not hitting, he gives that threat and you have to guard him out there. This pulls a good defender away from our other players, pulls someone away from double-teaming a president or from clogging the paint when the guards drive. Without him we don't have anyone with that threat except Curtis and it messes with our spacing on offense and allows defenses to pack the paint like WVU did tonight.

you are right about that, and tonight was the frustrating part.

Yeah the bigger league may throw some kinks in how schedule rotates.

Really stupid to think you need to rewrite his game when he's played so well. Glad you're not the coach. You take the bad with the good. Same thing you don't love all cujos drives, but you take it because to lose that you'd lose aggression.

Flush it and move on, we were due for a game like this, on the road and we could not make a 3 point shot to save our life after coming off a big win vs KU. We were not going to go undefeated in conference play, heads up, neither is Houston or Arizona. Great win for WV, forget it and get ready for UCF.

I really think Milan would have made a huge difference. He can make the three and they can’t pack it in, which makes Keshon a bigger threat driving the lane. They don’t respect Heise or Watson shooting threes so it’s way easier to play defense

I expect to beat UCF by no less than 200 pts.

I think you could have 3 rotating groups of 5 teams for each team. Group A is home only, group B is road only, and Group C is home and away. The next season the group rotates so that group A is road only, group B is home and away, and group C is home only. And then just keep rotating. This doesn’t allow for protected rivalries, which I am not sure matter and only complicate scheduling more.

I really don't see much freaking out.

Its one game. Its extremely rare for any team to make it through conference play unscathed. And most of us knew what a house of horror morgantown has been for us going in

Almost historically bad shooting and officiating is certainly something that's going to draw a strong reaction. But hopefully its an anomaly.

Very good point. It did seem both vs KU and today it was clogged at the FT line area a lot when our guys drove

Hard to win on the road in the B12 and we have a tough road schedule this year, playing at KU, WVU, Houston and Arizona. Getting the Tech win was massive. Looking at the big picture, if we win out at home (certainly possible) and manage a winning road record in conference, we're sitting at 16 - 4 and 26 - 5 overall. That should have us in the mix for the regular season title and a top 2 seed in the tourney.

Devries mentioned that ISU had just lost him and he thought TJ and staff might be working through some things in terms of spacing. He knows first hand how that is.

Not sure where Heise lost his shot...But need him to get it back.
