Nice win, but worried that Heise/Watson combined for only 1 point.
They are both defensive pieces, but with Heise, I feel like he sometimes looks to pass too quickly. (usually is a good passer). Would be nice if he took a couple more for himself to get in a rhythm. Can't forget the Clones don't win a couple games without Nate Heise. Watson played better than I expected tonight.

Pretty sure he said 'many teams' can beat ISU. Many. Multiple.

that would still be a weird quote because it'd be true about just about any college team if you're going by that standard. Well maybe not his dukies because the ACC is bad.

great win Cyclones, this was an excellent victory. I missed it driving home in traffic. I will try to catch a replay. We have some seriously mentally tough players that seem to get better as the games get tighter. So proud of the team and TJ.

And I would agree. Houston, Illinois, Duke, Auburn, maybes: Kansas, West Virginia, Arizona, USC, Florida, Marquette. It's college basketball but I think that's an underhanded comment from a Duke homer in many ways. If it were Fran or Settles they would be singing praise for the performance.

What a solid win by the boys tonight! The end of the 1st half was pretty crazy up by nine down to 2 then back to 10 at half. The game was closer than the final score IMO, but the guys did a great job of stopping KU runs. I thought our defense was outstanding tonight, I don't know if that's the most we've ever turned KU over but we sure got some timely ones.
The students really enjoyed having Mr. Brightside played at the end of the game , the chorus came in late enough, most of the fans didn't notice it.:). Good crowd responded when we needed to.

TJ had nothing but good things to say about Watson's opportunity and play in the radio postgame. One thing that really impressed me is how courteous Keyshon can be, KU dude was falling out of bounds and he was already out he grabbed him and kept him from going all the way down then later on a drive to the basket I think he ended up on the camera man on a drive he stopped and checked to see he was ok.

Well 5-0 in the conference and a road trip to WVU next can't ask for more that that. LET'S GO BOYS!!!!

when we start dropping 4-6 games to unranked teams in the big12, yeah maybe. but I don't think that is going to happen.

You've implied that ISU couldn't lose to a couple of top ten teams so if they lose at Houston and KU, I'm curious to see if you still disagree with the notion that many teams could beat ISU.

omg, let it go. I didn't agree with his comment whatever it was. i don't care about Bilas though, and I don't care about what ESPN thinks of our awesome team.

It kind of was and it wasn't. Like, clearly the game was much closer than the final margin for most of the game, but also for most of the game it felt like we really should have been up by a lot more if not for some unforced errors.

Btw I was mad we got Heise and was mad we didn’t get David Coit in the transfer portal. Also was mad we recruited Chatfield when he was clearly only going to get in when our starters got into foul trouble

So are you applying for transfer portal talent evaluator?;)
Every Yr I'm just impressed with the players TJ brings in, they might not all be hits but he has never brought one in that blows up the chemistry and most of them fill a niche pretty darn well.

I don’t think he was off base with this comment. Anyone can beat anyone. We’re not unbeatable but we can also take any of the best teams in the country down as well.

Yeah technically he's correct, you have to play the game, but I'll stack this team up against anyone in the nation and believe they'll battle all the way to the end.

Tonight showed that getting garbage minutes on buy game blowouts wasn’t necessary for Watson to be ready to contribute if needed. 5 Rebs in 10 minutes and solid D is all we need from him. We have plenty of offensive firepower this year.
It would be great if he could develop a couple 1-2 dribble moves, and hit some threes to go with his great defense, rebounding and hustle. Nevertheless, not playing and coming in vs KU is a tough spot and he played some really good minutes.

Ya I actually felt I needed to justify to my friend why the crowd wasn't very loud compared to most Kansas games. 1; Self did a master class controlling the crowd 2; ISU was clearly better than them and it was a sleeper hold most of the game.
Agree. Ku pretty good defensively, hard to just put a 10-0 run on them. Plus they play slower than they usually do.

Nate might just need bit more confidence in shot and for game to slow down for him on that end but he's playing so hard can give him time to find his shot

Leaving the game tonight, walking past KU players and family. Zeke Mayo and family were debating if Hilton was louder than phog Allen.

Zeke said Hilton was louder

I thought the crowd was pretty pedestrian tonight.

I thought we did a good job of getting into it when we needed to. Just my opinion.
