I was at the women's game so didn't watch this disaster.

But seriously... what the **** was this...

Nobody scored from 5:28 (Hawkins up Tech up by two) until 0:17 left (Williams to ice it)?

What were the Purple Kitties and the (are we black or red?) Tacos doing for five minutes of gametime?

As someone who watched it was really bad basketball.

You might want to sit this one out. Students come back Tuesday. Manhattan is 2+ hours away from KC- weeknight games not doable. Biggest snowfall in a century that hasn’t been plowed on side streets.

I wish there was a comp for Iowa State fans showing up to a game where there was a massive snowstorm and horrible road conditions. The funny thing is, there was, the students weren’t back, and the snowstorm happened that day, not a week prior!

Interesting. It’s almost like if the team doesn’t massively suck, fans will come out and brave the elements.

cycloneML, wasn't that snow about 5 days ago? Sure it been cold and it hasn't all melted, but life goes on. You can't use the snow and streets as an excuse this many days later. If KSU didn't have good attendance, it is because their program is in the dumpster, not because of the weather or lack of students.

I learned from this game that their poverty coliseum has bleacher seats.

I think the campus location works against the Gophers. It’s not much of a college experience, in my opinion. And as far as cities go you’re not talking about Miami, LA, etc that may be more desirable.

The apathy is twofold. One is that the teams are not great. The other is that you’ve got Vikings, Wild, Twins, Wolves to compete with.
Minnesota is a pro sports state for the most part IMO, the collegiate hockey teams UofM UMD get pretty solid support if I remember correctly but they are both in the running for the frozen 4 most yrs.

Sounds like the streets aren’t the only thing that needs plowed…

Defending the KSU men’s basketball program is a very odd take

What would be Fran's incentive to agree to a lower package? He's got Iowa by the balls. Go ahead and fire me, but you'll need to back up the brinks truck.
Fielding a higher quality team. That would be the main incentive for any coach to take a pay cut.

For the fans in the stands argument. I have a feeling if KSU was 13-2 ranked #9, the place would not have looked like that. just the way it is.

That team is dangerously close to flat lining and their next 3 games are probably going to dictate where they are heading.

They are 7-9 and their they are AT Kansas, AT Baylor and host a very good West Virginia Team.

If they lose these 3 games and are 7-12 (1-7), you may see the team completely fold up as their really isn't much recovering from that.
