This might be what we’ve been missing most in the past.
The number of easy looks he gets himself or others (e.g. wide open threes or that cut to Heise for a dunk) is impressive.
Anyone else think Jefferson and Jackson likely take the same trajectory as Gilbert and Jones? Really good players as first year transfers and then a jump to household names in their second years? Jefferson particularly was sidelined all summer with the injury. A complete year under his belt and full offseason to work on his body...look out!
For sure. I think they both even do that this season like Keshon and Curtis did mid-year last year. I think Jefferson is already making strides every game so far.

Jefferson is playing considerably better than he did in Maui. I’d love to see that game again with a few more games under his belt. Was not close to being I. Game shape yet at that time.
I feel like he's a more dominant Ejim/Niang mix of some sort.
Like everything those guys could do but more refined or something. Instead of the craftiness it's simply backing a guy down and dictating what every defender has to do.
I’d like to see Jackson be stronger around the rim. He has been nails at the line, but feel like he’s leaving a lot on the table some games.
There is some Royce White in his game too
When he catches it 15 ft from the basket, our offense is unstoppable. He's either backing the defender down or finding an open man, he just does it all.
He passes like Royce White for sure, especially on the dribble. Niang and Ejim did not have that kind of vision. Im not sure we've ever had a guy skilled enough and tough enough to downright back dudes down from 15 feet on the dribble the way Jefferson does. It is so impressive. You try to play a guard on JJ your a$$ is getting backed down.
Yeah he is really soft around the rim . With his size he should be destroying dudes down low.
He might have a quad 5 game which is ridiculous for a big in college basketball. Tinsley and Tamin might have done that a couple times.
It surprised me a bit when I saw how many assists he had today. They felt kind of "quiet"--that is, he was getting them in the flow of the offense. He wasn't forcing the ball to anyone (just 1 TO); he was consistently making the right play and the shooters were knocking down the shots.
