I thought the point of playing football was…playing football?

Not anymore, it’s pretty much just about marketing and “potential.” Might as well not play the games anymore and just give the title each year to the recruiting winner. No need to play and get yourself hurt and affect your NFL draft stock, or play badly and lose your NIL $$.
