My experience is that K State fans that you meet in-person, like at live games, are mostly fine, reasonable people, but their online contingent is one of the worst fanbases out there, EIU levels of delusion and condescension.
Guy who used to be my insurance man until he retired was a K-State fan. NIce enough guy. I never did have bragging rights over him though because that was the era when we seemingly lost every football game against them on some fluke play or a late score and/or by one score.

I've been to several FB games in Manhattan, and know a handful of KSU grads from working in ag. IRL they're exactly like ISU fans. Lots of small town/rural Midwest folks with the humility and self deprecation that comes with all of that.

The ones on the internet? The f*cking worst.

I feel bad for them getting stuck with Tang, it's no different than if 90% of ISU fans were in a weird cult by way of our fandom.

It will be fun to see the losing wash away the Tang cult for them one by one, last year they actually believed every Cyclone fan/player/coach was a racist secret agent spy.

Hilton PA should play this song as Tang walks out this year.

Way up there
K State had a really bad non con and the big 12 schedule started out with 3 winnable games, with all the money they spent things were set up for a nice run. Watching K State fans turn on Tang is really fun.

They've got some talent for sure. maybe he can get it to gel. maybe not. that team he put together in his first season was a legit contender. no matter what happens, he did get them to an elite 8. something isu hasn't done in over 2 decades and only 2x ever.

here's to ending that this season hopefully.

His role in "putting it together" is often overstated. Noell was already there, he played for Bruce Weber the year before. Keyontae Johnson worked out but he had that heart issue at Florida and hadn't played for a year.

sometimes keeping players after a coaching change is every bit as hard as recruiting them fresh. especially since he isn't from the midwest. he could have easily bounced closer to home and probably gotten paid.

either way it worked. good for tang for that one year at least.
