It was a 8 or 9 possession game. JFC.

Sure and it just takes a few turnovers/run outs and 2-3 threes, which are perfectly capable of happening with a team like that that keeps firing away against reserves and just like *that* it's single digits.

While there were certainly some lapses which were frustrating, I couldn't help but be extremely impressed with many of those Morgan State points. Some incredible shooting and some incredible moves. My bigger concern is playing a team we've already played and this time on their court. That could make for a mental lapse.

Oh the horror.

I can just hear the committee. 'ISU went 16-4 in conference and only lost to Auburn in non con, but they only beat Morgan State by 9. They just don't deserve a 1 seed.'

Well the reaction to that would certainly make the meltdowns about the 13th guy not getting in for the last couple minutes yesterday seem pretty small.

You've come to that conclusion on what evidence? He's a redshirt freshman and it's well known it takes bigs a few years to develop.
Watching his movement and skill level in the time he has been on the court. Pretty easy tell he has a LONG way to go. In todays win now environment, TJ will likely need that scholarship for another eventually.

Knowing the committee and us not being named Kansas or Duke. They would absolutely use that as an Excuse. When was the last time we got as good of a seed as the experts were predicting

Why must every thread end up in a pissing match?

That was a rhetorical question by the way. It just gets boring, although I have to admit I've been guilty at times.
It's not, it's called debating. I happen to be on the side of getting starters rest, getting backups experience in case we need them, and limiting injuries. Others prefer to run out of gas like 2 years and work on cohesion and running sets against MEAC level teams.

You could probably take either side and have a legit argument.

'My argument is valid but here's the other side's take full of hyperbole because ISU got out to good starts and things evened out in TJ's first two years with limited rosters and I think it was because players didn't rest for 5 more game minutes in mid-December' is one approach I guess.

Did we or did we not lose like 7 in a row in February and March that year? It's a valid concern.

10-1
Ranked #3 in the country
Only loss is a last-second tip in against who many feel is the best team in the country (we were up by 18 btw)
Beat #5 Marquette at home rather easily
Beat Iowa in Iowa City when Iowa brought their absolute A game
Blew out all the buy games as we should

Forgive me for not caring about minute distribution against Morgan State in a 27 point win. We had energy yesterday but were sloppy. Regulars stayed in the game to keep the end score closer to what the metrics predicted. This is how it's done in 2024 whether you like it or not.

It’s a longstanding CF “tradition” bordering on weird obsession. Look no further than the Whar Edozie hand wringing during Fred’s best season.

Sure, in a perfect world everyone would get 10 min/game, a blue ribbon, and an extra chocolate milk at lunch. But it’s D1 basketball and not much different from other high level teams. Or much different than the best ISU teams we’ve had the privilege of watching.

Some people just need something to complain about, even when times are good.

Yes, they did. Seemed to be a lot of variables involved including limited athleticism and the Caleb Grill stuff. And people expected things to just happen because January was good.

I'll leave this all alone for now since this revolving door of meltdowns seems to happen every year for good-very good basketball teams and it's really odd.

But what if someone on the team likes strawberry milk!!??
