I drank some dihydrogen oxide one time.

Felt better but didn't notice any psychoactive effects.

Someone told me to take Magnesium to help with sleep. It wasn't any easier to get to sleep, but I had some of the most ****** up dreams you could ever imagine.

I've never heard that with Magnesium, but I have heard that happening from taking too much Melatonin.

I seem to remember a radio station contest where that happened. I don't recall the details, but some girl drank a ton very quickly and died.
I remember that too. I think it was to win a Wii or something like that. Crazy.

Sometimes I think I might be the only boomer who never tried any of it. Not even pot. I find after a few drinks I can tell my body and mind are out of it. And I don't really like the feeling of lost control. I have a naturally ****** sense of balance as my normal state, so no reason to push it further. I never have more than 2 of anything.

About 18 years ago I had surgery on my arm and was given a 30 day supply of Oxy. I took it for two days and then switched to Ibuprofen and it felt no different. This was back in the days they passed it out fairly generously. I gave the rest to my nephew who had back issues.

I do find when I get dental work the dentist usually has to hit me with a double dose of Novocain to kill the pain.

I had an abscessed tooth last summer that took about 10 days to settle down enough to have it pulled. It hurt like hell the whole time and they wouldn't give me anything stronger than OTC Tylenol even though I begged for something. ( I was wishing I still had that Oxy.) That overall ordeal including the time in the dentist chair pulling it, then going in to remove the temp bridge (pulled and pried for 5 minutes to get it off.) Then the permanent didn't quite fit right so had to do some more grinding. Believe it or not, that was probably the worst pain I've ever endured.

As with a couple others, I shattered my lower leg/ankle and was prescribed Oxy. I took it as directed for 2 days, felt like absolute dog **** and was all blocked up. Decided I’d just manage the pain with ibuprofen. I don’t understand the appeal with that stuff.

I have a high tolerance in general, but especially for psychoactive drugs. Mushrooms have never given me more than a lot of nervous muscle tension. Molly felt good but never gave me a euphoric feeling, and after taking a triple dose I gave up on it as I couldn’t sleep until about 12 hours after taking it.

So it’s alcohol and alcohol only for me. It must be my midwestern catholic up bringing that only allows depressants to work on me :D

Tried marijuana a couple of times, did absolutely nothing for me.

I was on Oxy for a dislocated pelvis. I hated feeling “altered” while on the meds, so I decided **** that, stopped taking the painkillers and just withstood the pain. I would rather feel the excruciating pain when sitting or laying down than how the Oxy made me feel.
Edibles are the way. My friends who have only smoked a couple times and didn't feel anything simply weren't inhaling. Got them coughing up a storm and they went to the moon.

Stay away from ecstacy.
Disagree wholeheartedly.

I have only had good experiences, and it's my drug of choice when it's available. Otherwise I stick to weed. Same as any drug, you need to know what you're getting into before you take it. Luckily I was with people who were experienced and knew what they were doing.

Get a full belly first because you will lose whatever appetite you had and end up feeling like **** in the morning. Also have a plan for the anxiety that will naturally arise because all of your senses are amped up 100x. That **** is overwhelming for your body and you need to regulate that anxiety before you can ease into the long "rolling" stage. Once you're there, you understand why it's called ecstasy.

One time I literally just laid in a hammock with a fuzzy blanket and my partner in my arms, talking about life, watching the lake and birds flying around. When I started getting antsy, we took a walk and laid down on a blanket under a full moon. Sounds cheesy but it was truly amazing.

Followed by a week of low serotonin depression. I'll pass.
