This makes me think of a plaque my dad had which now sits on my desk. "If there is now way, make one".
My father gave me a matted and framed "Latin" quotation when he delivered me to my dorm my freshman year. It read "Illegitimi non carborundum".

And before the lawyer geeks in here tell me that isn't Latin...stuff it! I like the loose translation.

I thought I did leave some quickly written questions! Not very thorough though, more of a screener interview :D

@cowgirl836 you did send questions. I dodged them with an "I'm not worthy" response. Apologies.

@ImJustKCClone thanks for reciprocating. Here you go.

1. Late boomer
2. M
3. Married 35 years
4. Yes, real. I was enthralled as a 6 year old. Most likely lead me to point 8
5. 3 kids. 1 M, 2 F. All adults. 1 grandchild. Just started high school this year
6. Working
7. Application engineer for turbomachinery control solutions provider
8. Yes. BS AeroE
9. No. My recently new son-in-law is one though. Converted my oldest daughter to the dark side.

Daddy was an AeroE from TA&M. He was with Boeing in the 60s and was part of the cadre that were sent to the Cape, on loan to NASA. We lived there from 66-68. His responsibilities were the Crawler & the Umbilical Tower. I have always wanted to go into space, and I really hope we make it to Mars before my time is over, but it's not looking good at this point. :(

I've posted links to the "Now I Know" site when a topic really strikes my fancy. As a writer/editor/communicator, I like the content and how it's presented, although not everything is interesting to me.
Today's main topic, however, seemed to be quite appropriate here given our penchant for deriding those whose posts have typos.
I think we could use a little more Grace with each other.

I cringe each time I see one of my own typos or grammar errors after I've posted something here on CF. It's a mad rush to hit "edit" before someone smugly drops a one word reply to correct my terrible and inexcusable (to them) transgression.

There are a number of CF posters that seem hardwired to be condescending and correcting other people seems to gives them great pleasure.

Wrote long message and accidentally deleted it. Short story - we got split up, neither of the people next to us (both solo) would switch.
The woman next to me is very sad that I am being mean and not talking to her. Well, she insisted that I should be happy with her choice, Yeah, after the third apology I finally told her I really didn't need to hear her explain why I shouldn't be unhappy about sitting halfway across the plane from Lew. So now she's talking to herself as she scrolls on her phone.
It's going to be a looooong flight. GAAAAAHHH!!!
