Thanks for posting this!
Lot of info and projections that I think many would like to see if they don't have Twitter or click the link. @nikebasketball

Spotlight: Josiah Harrington (@JosiahHarr_24), a 6'5" Guard for North Scott HS/ @mwehoops_eybl

AAU, class of 2027, emerging as Iowa's most highly-touted prospect since Caitlin Clark and a potential program-altering recruit on the national stage. Current Status: - Projected 5-star recruit - Freshman Year HS Stats: 13 PPG, 3 RPG, 1 APG, 50% FG, 40% 3PT - Playoff Performance: 19 PPG, 4 RPG - Power 5 offers:
@OU_Athletics
@IlliniMBB
@IowaHoops
@iowastateball

- Blue-blood interest:
@DukeMBB
@UNC_Basketball
@umichbball
@MSU_Basketball

Elite Marksman: Demonstrates exceptional shooting touch, converting 50% on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers and 40% overall from beyond the arc. Size-Skill Combo: At 6'5" with guard skills and projected growth to 6'7"-6'9", presents a matchup nightmare for opponents across Iowa and beyond.

Clutch Performer: Elevated play in high-pressure situations, averaging 19 points and 4 rebounds in Iowa high school playoffs.
Predictive Analytics Model: Scoring Projection: - Sophomore: 15.6 PPG - Junior: 18.7 PPG - Senior: 22.4 PPG Three-Point Shooting Development: - Senior year projection: 46% 3PT on higher volume

Physical Development: - Senior year height projection: 6'7" - 6'9" - Rebounding: 7-8 RPG by senior year

Defensive Impact: Projected: Elite wing defender by junior year, guarding positions 1-4 National Ranking Trajectory: - Projected: Top 10 national recruit by junior year, potential for top 5 by senior year Impact on Iowa High School Basketball:

Raising the Bar: Harrington's projected statistical improvements could set new benchmarks for individual performance in Iowa high school basketball. His potential to average over 20 PPG while shooting 46% from three as a senior would likely make him one of the most efficient high-volume scorers in state history.

Defensive Evolution: As Harrington develops into an elite wing defender capable of guarding multiple positions, he could inspire a trend towards more versatile, switchable defenses in Iowa high school basketball. Coaches across the state may adapt their systems to emulate this style of play. Recruitment Spotlight: Harrington's status as a 5-star recruit and his projected rise to a potential top-5 national prospect could bring unprecedented attention to Iowa high school basketball. This increased exposure could benefit other talented players in the state, potentially leading to more Iowa prospects receiving national recognition and high-major college offers.

Competitive Landscape: As Harrington's North Scott HS team potentially becomes a state powerhouse, it could elevate the level of competition across Iowa. Other programs may be forced to innovate and improve to keep pace, raising the overall quality of play in the state.

College Recruitment Patterns: If Harrington commits to an in-state program like Iowa or Iowa State, it could set a precedent for top Iowa prospects to stay home, potentially altering recruitment patterns for future high-level players from the state.

Conclusion: Josiah Harrington's projected development represents a potential paradigm shift for Iowa high school basketball. His combination of elite shooting, projected physical growth, and all-around skill development could not only redefine individual performance standards but also elevate the overall quality and national perception of Iowa high school basketball. As Harrington progresses through his high school career, his impact is likely to extend far beyond his individual achievements. He has the potential to inspire a new generation of Iowa basketball players, attract national attention to the state's basketball scene, and potentially influence tactical and strategic approaches to the game at the high school level.

I’ll hit the dumb button and explain my thoughts. Good recruits make good basketball teams. This notion that I want him to stay a 4-star ******** is the same as when people say I prefer to stay out of the rankings. The better players you get the better your team is, period. We have only had a handful of highly ranked players in our history, and of those, some haven’t worked out. So what! Go get the best players you can get. End of discussion.
Go back and read. Didn't say I want him to stay a 4 star. Said I'd be fine if he stays a 4 star.

End of discussion.

The problem with your original comment though is he is the same player whether someone chooses to rate him a 4 star or a 5 star. Becoming a 5 star isn't going to automatically change how he eventually performs at Iowa State (assuming he remains committed).

Read the post below mine. We want all the high end recruits we can get. If TJ wants them and they are 5 stars, so be it.

Dafuq? Jamarion Batemon hasn’t even started his senior year of high school basketball and we are already trying to recruit over him… This staff is nuts..
Glad you’re not our coach. First thing is competition is a good thing, 2nd is you can have 5 guys on the court at a time. A lot more to explain but this commitment is a great thing.

Why is it meh? He has offers from other major programs, and wants to commit. TJ wouldn’t have offered and wanted him to commit if he didn’t think it was a high likelihood that the kid will
Be a good one.
Just that he will actually make it on campus. Three years is a long time.

Bruce Rastetter is a hok...

Interesting additional info about Bruce from the Register....

The president of the governing body for Iowa's public universities (Regents) has long used his $5 million pledge to the Hawkeye football program to build his image as a successful businessman and philanthropist.

But years after his 2008 commitment was touted at a news conference as the largest gift to Iowa athletics, Bruce Rastetter has given less than a third of that amount, a review by the Associated Press shows. Another donor who promised $5 million the same day completed his pledge two years ago, and the football training complex they were supporting has been open for about 18 months.

"I am an Iowa grad, I have given $5 million to the University of Iowa, and I want to see the place succeed," Rastetter told the Des Moines Business Record last fall.
