Had 13 people show up. At least two don't drink and a couple had maybe one glass and still went through five bottles of champagne. And I have a metric ton of food left. Seems neighbors were way more interested in drinking bubbly than eating. Gonna be eating snack food for a while. Note to self: buy and prep less foods next time.

I wish I was more familiar with Milwaukee, trying to plan an activity out, I feel like that would be more fun than just going to a restaurant.
I used to go wander local art museums when I'd go to larger cities I was unfamiliar with. You can pretty much always find something awe inspiring and a few pieces to poke fun/have a laugh at. If you're going with a plus one it can help give you a feel for their tastes/interests as well.

Not exactly sure.

Has she ever taken the Brewers stadium tour? Those are usually about 90 minutes and you get to see spots you don't normally get to. Or wherever the Bucks play? If she likes sports, those are things that can be of interest. Find an indoor go-kart track, you won't get to talk much during it, but will give you things to talk about later on. Not knowing what she really likes (outside of the brewers), I'm just kinda spit-balling

The Miller Brewery tour is neat if into that sort of thing. The Milwaukee Art Museum is a neat building and cool to wander around. Lakefront Brewery is a nice place.

The Safehouse is a cool place and is noted in the link above if you are out in the evening.

Went to lakefront when the Clones played in Milwaukee, that is a fun brewery tour, it helps if you want to have some fun and sing along at the end. Shamel, shamazel ...

Speaking of Milwaukee, I'm in charge of finding a community service opportunity for a conference there next June and looking for ideas.
We don't have enough time to actually "do" something like the Food Bank stuff here in Iowa (which one must pay for anyway.) When I first started this a couple of years ago, I found a literacy organization that accepted books and they were thrilled to have some donations from us. This was in Asheville, NC, and the person in charge attended our final breakfast in person to talk about the program and thank people for bringing books.
The conference is for my professional communications organization, and tieing a painless donation to a reading/literacy organization for kids and adults really meshed with what we do.
I've done quick searches for something similar in Milwaukee, but honestly don't know where to start looking because Milwaukee population is about 5 times larger than Asheville.

Still trying to figure out the backward hat deal around here.

I'm almost the only dad who wears his hat like a ballplayer

The only time I flip my hat backwards is if the bill gets in the way of my camera viewfinder when out doing photo walkabouts. Got back to parking lot a week or so ago and realized I had my hat on backwards. I generally remember to flip it forwards after I take the photos. Felt like a doof.
