Ridley Scott can really deliver sometimes and when you look at his whole run it's pretty incredible even with a few duds.

I feel like Prometheus is one of the more underrated/misunderstood movies of its kind ever, it's freaking amazing, just rewatched it. Find a movie with intense action/horror that has better acting performances from the stars down to the most minor roles, cannot be done. The way they recreated the original chest burst scene but in a totally new way was off the charts.

I've got to push back a little bit on this. The characters did really dumb things just to move the plot along and if you watch Alien and Prometheus side by side, they're basically the same movie with added background knowledge in the latter.

Feel opposite. I went from 7 to 8 to 9 on repeated viewings. Horror/sci fi masterpiece along with original.

I like Denzel Washington, but I think he was not a good choice, just my opinion from that trailer.

I can see that. I will say test audiences left saying he's a lock for a supporting actor nomination for his villainous role

Denzel seems wierd for this but maybe this movie has a different tone than the first that makes it work.

Will he have an accent or go American like Kevin Costner in Robin Hood? Ancient Rome movies require everyone to have at least a British accent.

I think it was the "this is what they believe in, powah" part, maybe it's out of context but to me that was just Denzel saying that, didn't even seem like a character.
