I did not hear him say this today. I heard him talk about the attention she gets. He said it is not because she's white or drop dead beautiful.

The quote was something like “She’s not so popular because she’s from Iowa, white, straight” or something similar. And finished his list up with the drop-dead beautiful comment. I’d find it odd he’d list two or three things she definitely is and one thing he thinks she’s not. I took it the same way the poster did.
I took it as him saying she wasn’t drop dead beautiful. If she were beautiful, that would be a reason she gets attention. But she’s not, and she still gets attention.
Is it just me, or has Derek from New Sharon disappeared?

Being straight and white is basically kryptonite to being famous and well liked. Can't catch a break.
I only caught the tail end of it, but they did mention him when they were talking about the Cubs yesterday late in the show.
It really shows people’s agendas and biases. Or at least how they’re listening with the intent of “gotcha”ing these guys.

Yeah he used to call in daily, and sometimes twice to Fanatics it seemed. They were talking about his gambling picks and how "we should've listened to him", so who knows, maybe he does call into the morning show every once in a while still. I usually only catch the last couple segments since I have a quick commute to work.

It’s clear to me that he’s saying she isn’t that good looking, ergo her hype originated from some other quality.
I didn’t even consider the other interpretation until I saw it here, championed by posters that are really, really into hating on KXNO.
Murph’s coverage of CC is obsessive and annoying. He’s not ogling her over the radio.
I listened for you all. He does not say that she is or isn't drop-dead gorgeous, he said that the reason she's popular is NOT because she is drop-dead gorgeous. Problem solved.
