And if KXNO goes to all National Shows in the near future like so many here predict, you'll all complain about a lack of local coverage on the radio. You guys could've all changed the station but it appears you're all incapable of such a feat.

There’s a Stan for everything I guess. Even small-market AM sports talk radio.

This thread should be removed. What a sad sack. You guys complaining none stop sure don't know how to change the freaking radio station. Whine whine whine. Okay, KXNO has an opening for a new show! Which of you dbags is gonna offer to do a show?

Morning Rush is a good morning show. Yes, Chris and Ross ending their show sucked the life out of KXNO for me but I've enjoyed Ross, Travis and Justin. They have a decent thing going.

M&,A seemed like a show for older ppl.

The Drive, I can't. I just can't. Sean is okay but he needs a better partner, someone closer to his age like Songer. Heather is gone too often and it's too much 5-0 talk.

Travis Justice is a garbage human being. I don't know how he's still on the radio.

I’m actually quite sad about this. My favorite radio show / podcast since forever. The only reason I listened to KXNO really.
I haven't listened to them for years since I've moved away from Des Moines, but I kind of am too. I always really liked their show and thought it had the right mix of sports and nonsports content

Respectfully - are you…sure?

Condon is the quintessential smarmy whiny suckeye fan. It’s very hard to imagine a douchier radio voice or personality. Pure torture.
He’s capable of being objective and giving ISU non backhanded compliments. Way more so than Travis or even Ross, IMO.

You can tell in his heart he’s that obnoxious Purple Hawk but he does good keeping it off the air

I think CW was onto something with his new company (Iowa everywhere).....can produce what folks want....and i'd imagine a lot of KXNO folks were listening via app/podcast.

This. Iowa Everywhere and the CF podcast network give me everything I need for local sports content. I used to listen to KXNO daily, but I don't think I've tuned in more than once or twice in the last year. It's a dead station as far as I'm concerned.

Eh, I've heard him say plenty of backhanded things about ISU. His certainly seem more veiled/smart than what Ross/Travis spout, but he's said plenty of backhanded things. And he seems pretty homerish on nearly all things hawkeye.

I think the unspoken idea when Chris started IE was that it would act as a replacement for KXNO on the new medium of podcasts and on demand entertainment, to prepare for both changing listener habits and the day iHeart finally succeeds in gutting the station.

I wish they had another Cyclone pod to replace Nick and Jake, but CF will do in the meantime. Even the hawk stuff like CL and Doc’s show are shows that would’ve fit on KXNO 10-20 years ago.

I don't know what this is.

Two Guys Named Chris podcast. CW and Chris Hassel. Twice a week podcast 50/50 cyclones/hawkeyes.

To me it’s proof KXNO could have covered ISU and Iowa simultaneously and genuinely. It’s a show that would never celebrate pushing Alan Lazard to flip his commitment from ISU to Notre Dame like M&A felt they had to.

It’s like when CW and Ross P hosted their Kxno show but Hassel brings enough he’s enjoyable as an ISU fan.

I also liked Jon Miller on Kxno as an honest Iowa homer, even in his troll days, he had a little something. M&A would grind my gears because I never felt they were genuine with Iowa/ISU rivalry, they came off like Iowa fans putting on an act. They languished about that fair catch call for months when they’d always criticized ISU fans for obsessing about any equally game altering blown call. It was actually better when Drake was in ncaa tournament and Andy could at least be genuine about that.

If Murph and Andy move to Iowa Everywhere, I wonder if Andrew Downs will join in with that. The nice thing about that is they can adjust the recording schedule to better fit their other schedules.

Also, if it didn't get ratings there wouldn't be ads. Without ads the show wouldn't be on. Hmm...

Everything technically gets ratings... when your ratings equate to 5 iheart radio ads and Ross trying to lure people into the Northwoods with him that is hardly big money advertising.

Oh sorry... forgot APPPPPPROOOOOVVVVEEDDDDD BY JOE.COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Same. I called this when AD stepped aside.

I have no info but I would be stunned if they didn’t have something in place with CW to pod once or twice a week on Iowa Everywhere

It just makes way too much sense. I doubt they would just up and quit if they didn't have something else lined up because they both seem to enjoy doing the show so much. In the CW pod with AD shortly after he quit they hinted at getting that show back together someday.

A caller on the Drive suggested Justin Miller and Lucas get the spot. That would be brutal radio.
My guess is they are going to shuffle the chairs on the deck of the titanic once again like they have the past few times when someone leaves and either move hosts around or most likely they will just move Miller and Condom to that time slot and put national programming in their midday time slot.

They really could use a new personality or 2 outside of the current KXNO staff if they were to create a new local show. Someone not as well known with a fresh perspective that can actually have a show that isn't full of fluff to fill the time like the morning and afternoon shows have turned into. I remember the days people here used to rag on Larry Cotlar when he had the morning show but I would love to have someone like that hosting again on KXNO. Larry had a structured show that had regular guests and stayed on topic most of the time without needed a bunch of non-sports talk to fill in the gaps. Those types of hosts like him and Ken Miller are not common anymore it feels like.

Not me. It's all CC and WNBA talk. Or stupid stories about their personal lives. Won't miss it.
