That's gold. Leased office printers are $$$ per month.
I'd be surprised that any IT person would even touch a leased machine. Not their job, not their liability.

I did ours for years, but then one year something got messed up and we had to deal with the IRS for two years. After that we went to our local tax accountant, dropped off our folder full of "tax stuff" and about a week later we went in and signed. Only for a couple hundred bucks. Easy peasy. That person moved to Texas and now we have a new person who wants us to fill out this "packet", and they are charging us more. No thanks, I'll just go back to doing them myself.
I will say, if you dont have anything too complicated, the tax software like HR Block or Turbo Tax make it pretty easy to do.

Basically walks you through it.

Wasn't there a Grey's Anatomy episode about someone who "experienced" that? Although it was somewhat intentional and there was more than one "item" in play.
No idea, I could watch Grey’s when I was younger but I can’t watch a single episode anymore, it’s probably the most unrealistic medical show I’ve ever seen.

I saw one of those long-legged house centipides in out bathtub this morning. No biggie. All of the sudden a few hours later my wife is texting me a picture of it to me. I'm like, "yeah I saw it earlier." She got all bent out of shaped that I didn't do anything about it. I'm like, "it didn't bother me." Her response was, "Well, I don't like them and it affects my mental state." I still did nothing. She just ran water in the tub for a couple minutes and closed the drain. Oh, well all that for just running water in the tub for a couple of minutes.

I was always more of a House person. I realize it was pretty unrealistic too, but I liked the funny and sarcastic stuff from House.

Edit: this is still one of my favorite scenes. I still laugh so hard at this.

My guy retired a couple of years ago. I used to just upload all of my documents to him securely and he would take care of it. It cost me double what the software did but it was easy.

When he retired he kept his office open but now his underlings take care of things. He also started having me fill out a packet of some sort that took some time. Back to Turbo Tax I went. The software has improved over the years and even with investments/1099/etc, it doesn't take long. The banks have made good progress allowing temporary access to pull information. I can knock it out in a few hours and save a couple hundred bucks.

"I didn't do it 'cause I didn't think it was graded."

Well, not exactly today but I get the same sentiment almost daily. And, why wouldn't you think a 3+ page essay over what we've spent the last three weeks reading wouldn't be graded?

Sigh.

Weird, I saw one of those this morning in the garage and I haven't seen one in a long, long time. Reminds me of a joke.

A pet store owner talked me into buying a centipede that he said could talk. I didn't believe him but I bought it and took it home anyway.

I was heading out to the bar that night and asked my new centipede friend if he wanted to go. Nothing. Came back a few minutes later and asked again. Nothing. Stupid thing can't talk, I got ripped off.

After a half hour I said "alright, fine, I'm going to the bar with or without you and I'm leaving now." The centipede yells back, "HOLD ON, I'M PUTTING ON MY SHOES!"

Yeah, even in Florida. I've literally stopped telling new people I meet that I'm from Iowa. Almost to a person they want to talk about WBB. I'm tired of calmly telling them it's NOT my team or my school and that I don't watch. And that we hate them. "Are Florida and Florida State the same (with - you ******* ignorant moron undertones)?"

It's even worse with the ones I've known for a decade that see me wearing ISU gear quite often that STILL think I'm super excited about it.

The original or the new one?
The touring show that’s at Stephens would be a stage musical based on the original movie. The new movie is a musical based on the stage musical.

It’s even more confusing when some of the actors from the original (non-musical) movie appear in the new (musical) movie, which is essentially the same story … but with songs!

And now I see plenty of you answered this question already, lol.

Had a guy yell 'Go Hawkeyes,' at me while I was wearing an ISU hat in Ft Lauderdale a few years ago. I've never been so close to assaulting a stranger.

FreeTax USA. I’ve used it for two years, it works great, it’s easy, and the federal return is free. State return is like $15, and I was so pleased with how easy the federal went I happily paid it.

I was talking to an insurance agent today about the house we just purchased in Ames, he was out east, Massachusetts I think, once he found out I was from Iowa, the first thing out of his mouth was about C. Clark. I told him that I am moving to Ames and we are ISU fans, and could care less about CC. Shut him right down.

That's why the IT department wants to lease printers. That way they don't have to deal with them. One less thing they have to do. IT manager also admitted they answer most employee issues simply by using google. I think AI will put them out of a job soon!!

Spouse working on ours today - we had a decent refund with the childcare credit stuff in 21 or 22 but the refund got held up foreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever, like I think we got it in December. He just told me that we got like $200 in interest from the IRS for that delay. I'm like that's not so bad then.

This is from several years ago. I don't watch either.
