Between the "play-ins" and the 1st two real rounds, there are -- by my count -- 112 potential matchups before even getting to Sweet 16 games. If you make 112 potential matchups, even done completely randomly, you're almost certainly going to inadvertently make some that have strong connections and stories.

Oregon will screwed that up. That would have been the equivalent to us trying to get BRE to the free throw line with the game on the line .
