We needed to be great and we didn't quite get there. That said, make one more 3, one bunny and a couple more fts and it comes down to the wire. We don't quit and I love that about this team.

The loss hurts, especially in the conference race but there's still a lot in front of us. Rest up and avoid a hangover game Saturday.

And in the second half at the 8 minute mark Houston had what 8 fouls, ISU had.............2.

The guys had their chances, just wasn't in the cards tonight. Wasn't because of the officials.

A big part of that was what was being shot at that point in the game though. They were taking (and making) a lot of 3s.

This board is just exhausting when it comes to officiating. It’s every loss. You aren’t going to get a favorable whistle on the road. That’s reality. And this was an impossible game to officiating.

It’s just a loser mentality. We needed to be that much better and we weren’t.
This is spot on. We have to worry about ourselves. Make free throws and layups and win the turnover battle which we obviously did not tonight. Houston is good and so are we.

Great effort, we started slow, but came on strong. Free throw difference UH 24/32 while ISU was 10/15, we out rebounded UH 39 to 30, 9 of 17 from 3, while they were 7 of 24. Steals and turnovers were the killers for us today, UH was +8 on steals and we lost the TO battle 16 to 9.

We will see them again, great effort, lets move on to WV at home.

At the beginning of the game, I thought I heard John W. say that "all of Houston's starters are eligible to return next year"? Wow!

Is that true? Not that all may want to come back.

This is the game that we will look back on with gratitude when we’re playing in Phoenix and out-toughing nearly everybody.

I really think it’s us, Houston, UConn that are the toughest groups this year. And I think we can win 4-5 out of 10 against Houston on a neutral court.

If Houston drops one more and we can win out, that’s a B12 title - shared or not. Remember that Baylor has a brutal schedule down the stretch, and Houston gets Kansas to close out league play. This was a tough one to swallow, but winning the league isn’t over yet. And it’s just a regular season game. Lots of basketball left for this team.

My point was exactly that. This is a top 10 program that made a Final Four very recently. We got overrated, goodbye, and go start the bus chants. It was amusing if anything. And kind of weird.

Not gonna lie 'start the bus' is pretty awesome.

I didn’t think the refs screwed us in Va tech, A&M, byu, Baylor or OU losses.

They truly sucked balls tonight and in a couple of our wins that shouldn’t have been as close. They couldn’t call a legit game tonight. Houston is good and they have b12 poty.
Good point, I know I complained about the BYU players doing things that could have been fouls becuase they were doing sneaky stuff. And I thought OK had several bad calls, but, I'm not sure any of those loses were 1/2 as badly officiated as this one. We are not the bruisers that Houston was tonight and it should have been controlled better.

Go back and read the game threads any time we lose. It’s the same dozen people saying it was the refs fault. Get over it— we had to play better and we didn’t. No shame in it, Houston is great and Shead balled out.

Meh, I don't think we lost because of the refs, but it's a step too far to say that they didn't greatly affect the game. Missed calls both ways, but a few of the worst went against us. There were 2 fouls that were obviously in the act of shooting and yet no free throws. Then there was the obvious call given just because Sampson complained (that one went to BRE)

Numbers aren't telling. They were still fouling in the 2nd half as if they were going to get the 1st half calls. Then they did get the 1st half calls again. We had 3 more fouls than them, if you're looking at raw numbers. They should've been called for a dozen more.
