Didn't I hear the SEC was 0-4 against the ACC?Playoff committee: SEC is obviously the top conference, top to bottom, we can’t leave out their champion
SEC: fails to qualify enough 6-win teams for their bowl tie-ins
It's nothing personal, just not a fan of playing a road game for a bowl game. It was a cool atmosphere though last time.Don't come for me, I'm a friendly Memphian, and we are excited to see y'all again. I see lots of y'all are disappointed and I hate to see that. We loved hosting y'all 6 years ago, even though the outcome of the game went in your direction.
I said it then, and I'll say it again. Ask me any questions about Memphis you may have. I'll gladly help however I can.
I’m seeing WVU to the Dukes Mayo bowl which isnt an affiliate.Since the NY6 games aren't conference affiliated I don't know why anything else needs to be.
How about go through the teams and figure out fun matchups and go regional, etc.
ISU/WI would have been an interesting match up for example.
And the pinstripe bowl wasn't in Rutgers's stadium but definitely right in their backyard. Not great for Memphis either. Home game for them isn't much of a bowl game experience. Big f-you for both teams.
Is this like the 3rd of these for us? We had the Smurf Bowl at Boise State and one just a few years back on the road vs Memphis.
And beat two of those teams. Oh well.We were picked behind OU, OSU, KSU. Not too shabby. Go Cyclones! I am glad people from the Midwest can easily drive there.
They were 0-2 against FSU, anyway.Didn't I hear the SEC was 0-4 against the ACC?
it’s just a little disappointing that we can finish essentially 3rd in the big 12 and get stuck playing a G5 team in the 5th best big 12 bowl
I’m not so much annoyed with the bowl game itself or the location rather than just the opponent.
Absolutely, I get it. I agree with teams hosting bowl games at their home field, but I hope y'all will join us and make the best of it. We really did LOVE having y'all last time. You certainly can't be surprised to see that though.
This is our third time in this bowl game in 11 years and none of the 3 times were against the SEC tie-in the bowl is supposed to have, and 2 of them were road games instead of a neutral site.
Teams having home games for bowls should be against the rules. Except for maybe Hawaii.
I actually talked to the wife about possibly attending my first ISU bowl game but only if it's a warm weather bowl so we could get a mini vacation. oh well
As others have said, it's playing Memphis AT Memphis that's disappointing. It's a road game, not a bowl game.Don't come for me, I'm a friendly Memphian, and we are excited to see y'all again. Yep... beating KSU and finishing ahead of them in the standings did absolutely NOTHING for us. And we travel just as good or likely better than KSU too.
I worry that JP actually lobbied for us to go to Memphis
If it is against a P5 opponent, yes.Because you want Shreveport?
Agreed. That would be really sad if true.Yep... beating KSU and finishing ahead of them in the standings did absolutely NOTHING for us. And we travel just as good or likely better than KSU too.
