I am 29, partied way too hard my first few years of college and never graduated.

Tonight I did my last assignment and had my final class after 4 years taking classes at Simpson. It consisted of 2 or 3 nights per week of classes from 5:30 to 9:30. Some weekend courses and working full time with no summers off.

I just wanted to say, I AM SO HAPPY TO BE DONE!!!!

Just braggin about something I hadn't gotten done when I should have!! I should be drinking!

As somebody who went a little non-traditional as well, trust me when I say I can totally understand your relief. Best of luck to you!

29?? Did you start right after you graduated HS?

Yep, 3 years in and out, got a .067 my first semester at ISU, after a year at a community college and a semester at UNI, then 3 years of construction, a year at my job and 4 years later I have a degree. Not the route I would suggest, but I am done. Got the piece of paper and wouldn't change a thing, I wouldn't have the friends and wife I do had I done it the right way!

Thanks, it was a long haul, but you appreciate it more when you are working too, took some saturdays my first year and missed some tailgates. Never took any Saturday classes after that!

Good job by you! I am happy to say I will never take another class unless it is job related. Just happy to have gotten it done, my younger brother got his masters from Western Ill. 3 years ago, I have not been able to live it down that he got 6 years done before I got a degree. I am content with the BA.

Congratulations! But don't listen to these clowns...even some doctors take nearly that long to get done with school. You're in a pretty elite class, IMO.

Gosh, if I knew who you were in real life, I'd buy you a beer in celebration and reminisce about the good ol' "party too much" days (still have my $20 bill trick "brand" on the ol' forearm). Yeah, that'd be great...oh well...don't know you, and you're probably moving far far away.
