Why do you think the TE position is loaded?

You’re right…. the TE group sucks too. Is that what you want me to say?

I just think this group has a ton of potential…. although it is young and inexperienced. Dean has played a lot and has looked pretty good. Klotz has played and is a good blocker. I think Moore is going to be really solid. Keller was a highly sought after recruit. And CMC has already mentioned Burkle several times, and he caught a TD in the spring game.

I admit they are young and somewhat unproven, but I think they are a talented and deep group. Sue me for being positive about something for once. I always get ripped on for being too negative all the time…. then I’m optimistic about something…. and get questioned about that too.

Ohhh…. and Benjamin Brahmer is arriving this summer, and by all accounts this kid is a stud. And they have Kai Black listed as a TE too. We only beat TE U Iowa for him.

Agree. They aren't going to mess around with gambling. It will be a very harsh punishment. If gambling becomes a thing amongst college football players... it could ruin the sport. People will not attend or watch a sport if they believe it is rigged.... unless it's professional wrestling (which I have no idea why anyone attends or watches btw).
Gambling already is a thing among college athletes. Does anyone really think ISU and Iowa are the only schools where this happens?

And the threat of it compromising the game is really nonexistent now because of NIL. No player in his right mind is going to take a few grand to shave points, tank a game, etc, when they're already making major bank through NIL. I mean, deliberately playing poorly to bag a game would affect a player's NIL market worth as well, and potentially tank a career.

This is one of the reasons why a harsh penalty by the NCAA for gambling is so stupid. That and the fact that it's legal now and not run by organized crime and is viewed much differently in society than say 20-30 years ago.

Kids of college age now grew up with DraftKings and FanDuel which were/are gambling sites disguised as fantasy games to get around the law before it changed. Gambling just doesn't have the stigma it once had and the NCAA needs to get out of the stone age here.

While I do agree, it's still very simple: If you're on scholarship at an NCAA school, don't make bets!

It's like the old improper benefits rule. Was it dumb that a player couldn't get a meal paid for from McDonald's? Yes, but it was the rule, and everyone knew it.

Not in the way that matters. You can bet on sports in Mississippi, but you have to be in a licensed casino to do it. You can’t from your living room.
Ha. That wasn't the statement. The statement was that only Louisiana had legal sports betting. Not legal sports betting that can be done legally from home.

It's not hard to sign up for an offshore account and still place bets from home. Even in Mississippi!

Then why have professionals...both players as well as officials...done exactly that? They're making SIGNIFICANTLY more than 99% of the collegiate athletes.

Most athletes aren't getting substantial NIL. No one has ever accused college age students of being good decision makers.

Probably anyone on scholarship, walk on, participating in practice somehow, shouldn't be difficult. Broom ball free agents excluded though
I still regret not buying a pair of broomball shoes back in '95-'96. Who knew I would have needed them for intermurals at ISU and that I'd never see them in a store again??? They looked like Chuck Taylors w/ a thick, spongy rubber sole, saw them in a sports store at the Mall of America. I think they were steel toe, too

Semi-related: had a co-worker explaining to us the other day how he gambled to make cash while he was a student at ISU, just graduated a couple weeks ago. Work smarter, not harder? I had a sweet job at ISU Surplus, would have been even poorer if I was gambler... Although I did help a guy with his NFL picks during, ironically, Business Law. I think he was placing his through some sort of organized, family "business", though. Definitely was not quite legal...

Norton is the best RB on our roster..... if he's healthy IMO. But losing Brock will certainly hurt depth. We will basically have 3 RBs.... and then Carson Hansen and Abu Sama (if he plays RB?).

Only a casual fan opinion, the FB staff is short sighted if they don't at least try out Sama at RB.
