Testifying
You got a problem with “decorum” that crosses site rule lines, report it. Otherwise stfu. You tell us to take the night off. Why don’t people who have a problem with game threads redirect their energies from officiating game threads to something that isn’t so clearly far below them.
Who told you to take a night off or mentioned crossing a site rule?

When Jaz missed those two free throws, that set up WVU no doubt for the comeback. Killed our momentum even though the lead exchanged hands since then. But had he made those free throws I think it would’ve been a lot more interesting..
Hilton was rocking. 15 minutes to review the call didn’t help our momentum.

If we have another late seasons meltdown like this and last year I think it's reasonable to be worried. Do you not?
I think making the Tournament 3-4 years in a row is something to be pretty grateful for as an Iowa State fan. I’m 45 years old and watched many good teams and great coaches. Not too many can get to that tournament consistently. Hell I love Dana Altman but Oregon is about to miss the tournament for the second year in a row and they play in the PAC-12. Can you imagine what we would be doing here?

We are behind talent wise the last two season versus most league teams. Therefore, we lost more of a step than they have, and it shows on the court. Simple as that. Lipsey IS a freshman. Guarding Big 12 guards & playing in the most physical league takes its toll. We had a couple more miss games this season than last due to injury. Our mid-majors are seeing the difference playing in this league versus their prior experiences. It's taken its toll.

Otz & the team exceeded expectations half way through the season & this increased everyone's expectations the rest of the way. It just sucks considering how well they played that it couldn't be sustained. Limping in to the end of the season, I just hope they get collected & catch fire some & have a last push for a win or more during the dance.
I'm not convinced the talent thing is true. Blowing a 23 point second halfead to Tech, losing our composure twice now against WV and OSU, and getting beat at home by a bad OU team is more between our players' ears and making coaching adjustments. Those things have all been abysmal.

Caleb is hurt. He was a giantic part of this teams success when he was healthy
Been saying on here a few weeks that we need three guards hitting. When three have 15+ or score 40+ it's very very likely a W for us. Now tonight Holmes and Gabe got 42 but Jaz had 5, Lipsey had 3 and Grill had 0.

I think the other thing we have to realize is that Huggins is probably the 2nd or 3rd best coach in this league. There offensive sets are elite and have been for years. Dude is a Hall of Fame coach. But he wasn’t the same guy at Cincy but rather he evolved into a high level offensive mind. People get better (typically) over time at their craft. TJ will too.

At the same time, this is what is annoying when people get up in arms at any criticism of TJ. Of course he has flaws, everyone does.

Worried about what, exactly?
You wouldn't be worried if we have 3 years in a row of horrific meltdowns in the 2nd half of the season? That seems like a major thing to worry about. I'm not saying I expect this or that out of TJ right now, but surely we all believe we can do better than play well early, get scouted, then suck after that right and limp into the tournament with a seed way worse than we could have.

If we're all cool with middle of the pack Big 12 team at best and never strikes above that let me know so I can stop talking about it, because the disconnect is too far apart then.

Grill getting hurt on that Texas player missing the free throw was the detriment to the season.

It's amazing but it's not out of the realm of possibility that we still get the 5 seed in KC.

Iowa State loses at Baylor
Texas beats TCU
Oklahoma beats TCU
Texas Tech beats OSU

Iowa State = 5 seed

Iowa State loses at Baylor
TCU beats both Texas and Oklahoma
Texas Tech beats OSU

Iowa State = 6 seed

Iowa State loses at Baylor
TCU loses both Texas and Oklahoma
OSU beats Texas Tech

Iowa State = 6 seed

Iowa State loses at Baylor
TCU wins one of Texas/Oklahoma and OSU loses at Tech

Iowa State = 6 seed

Iowa State loses at Baylor
TCU wins one of Texas or Oklahoma and OSU beats Tech

Iowa State = 7 seed
OSU has lost 5 in a row I don't see them winning at Tech

No one is saying you need to be pissed or even upset, but it would be completely reasonable for people to be upset if there's still major struggles offensively in year 3.
Yes. It would be generally unreasonable for people to throw tantrums if we make the tournament but we are #75 in the country in offensive efficiency. If it looks pretty on offense but we go to the NIT is that going to give people warm fuzzies.

Grill going in to the scrum was dumb and ended up really help WV. Not a good choice let WV self destruct. Played right into their bs. We need him back in the worst way, but he’s hurt us by losing his cool a few times now since his injury.
This. Grill play was just dumb

No, I'm not going to be worried about it.

3 years in a row of making a tournament (if that happens--I didn't think they would the last two seasons) is really good at ISU.

It'll be like 'hey, ISU's decent at basketball. Cool.'

Id disagree with this. I think a couple bad hires over the last 15 years have people's perspective off.

Power conference programs that care about basketball are generally more likely than not to make it most years, and that has increased over the last couple decades.
