I think Runyon is a better matchup for Gaitan than guys like Brands or Pitt. Being an undersized funk guy he really struggles with the strong and good position guys.

With Runyon they’d be rolling a round a bit. Could be good, or bad.
But the bad could be really, really bad.

Whoever wrestles Runyon I hope they stay out of his cradle. That kid can find his way into a cradle from some crazy positions. He's definitely a go for broke type of wrestler.

I’m with you on the 1st 6. Then I’d go 41, 74, 33, 84.

Unfortunately don’t see Marcus with much of a chance, and Biscoglia is just an absolute pain in the ass. Happel I think is overrated. Still a favorite over Casey at this point, but this will be close.
Keck has Coleman number, but Marcus beat Aaron ******* Brooks. What have you seen at 174?

Well he beat Olmos who is ranked ahead of both him and Runyon. My reason for this is because I think Runyon is not that good. Him and Broderson are comparable.

Keck is on a different tier than Coleman.

I know we've only seen Devine at 184 and 197 but pretty sure hes certified for 174. Surprised we haven't seen him this year

Devine wrestled 174 pretty much through December. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a chance.

He weighed in at 84 on OU/OSU weekend, so with the 1.5% descent rule the earliest he can weigh in at 74 would be Big 12s.

My confidence of getting a win from most to least likely:
165
197
Hwt
149
125 (might be above 149 if Perryman goes)
157
133
184
141
174

I just think Keck presents a tough stylistic matchup for Marcus, and being at UNI will impact the match as well
The positive is we will have a chance to win at every weight. It won’t happen of course but still.

He had his chance last year and got rode like a rented mule.

He qualified for NCAAs.

It's a moot point for this season as someone else pointed out, I'm just saying the results between Broderson and Devine aren't night and day or anything like that. The only realistic goal for this year would be to have a national qualifier at 174. I'm not sure we have that right now, but I hope I'm wrong.

I agree, but I'd switch 41 and 84. Coleman can keep up with Keck's pace for awhile but eventually gets to a breaking point. Keck has always had his numbe

Actually, it’s to get a qualifier to score points. I’m not sure who that is but the Broderson we are seeing now wrestles with zero energy or urgency. Not sure if that is due to injury or what but it needs to change soon or you seriously have to consider Devine at Big 12s. That is if he is even trying to get back down to 174.

IMO Devine has looked much better at 184 and even 197. I think the cut to 174 is too much for him and he has no energy. Granted, Broderson has been highly hit/miss and Gaitan has made a lot of freshman mistakes, so there are no real great options.

I did, and I’d give him less than 1% chance of it happening again.
You really can’t help yourself from being a jerk sometimes can you. Saying that he has less than 1% chance is so disrespectful and incorrect. Yes, there was one big move but Brooks still had over a period to come back from a small deficit and never. Coleman has not wrestled super well the past few weeks but he has the skill to beat anyone at the weight especially if he get’s an early TD. Yes, we understand the odds are against him but it appears he has closed the gap with the top guys and we will find out in the last 5 weeks what that brings.
