Stories from that dump of a stadium

One minute they're feeling so good about themselves for waving, the next they're throwing things at college kids because they're not playing well enough for them in a nationally irrelevant game.
I have only seen the last 30 seconds of the game. So I don't know, but I'd be surprised if the Big Ten Network showed the fans throwing things or said anything disparaging about them. These conference networks are so biased, not good for sports in general.

Yet let’s flag ISU’s bench (normally a sideline warning first) for celebrating thinking they won the game instead of Iowa’s fans being jackasses disturbing the field of play by throwing stuff

I still don't know if it was players celebrating or offensive players heading out due to change of possession.

BIL went down Friday night and stayed at the new hotel by the stadium or somewhere close. Lots of very wealthy hawk fans that went to med and law school there staying at the same place and he said it was awesome getting to shoot the **** with them and giving each other some jabs in good fun. But then Saturday came around and the random typical toothless Walmart mouth breathers that got their on-sale hawk shirts were out and about...your normal homophobic slurs thrown at him, f yous, clowns, moo u, etc.

Said the majority of the fans were pretty chill towards him invited the group in for drinks food, talked **** about their coaches and QB.

Nothing unusual to report. Mostly hoks speaking their dislike of Petras, Brian and sometimes Kirk. The fans hatred was aimed there. It was a joy to observe.

It’s pathetic to boo your own players. Takes a crap fan base to do that.

1. I still can’t get over Iowa not giving Petras at least a small break. Forget liking him a lot, they must hate him to make him go out there at this point. Campbell gave Purdy (a much better player) a breather when he was so bad last year against Iowa.

2. Booing players is bad and I won’t do it. I will say though I’m less against it with NIL.

But they wave! /s
I'll come off as an ******* for this take but whatever...at first, the wave was awesome because it was genuine. Then Iowa did what Iowa does and commercialized it to make themselves feel oh so good about themselves exact same thing as ANF. To me it is like one of those things when you do something truly good you do it without expecting anything in return...nope not the wave they want to make sure you damn well give them a pat on the back for it every single time.

But but but they are booing the coach and not the player

Or some bull ****
I'm willing to say that some (but not all) Iowa fans are booing the coaches and not Petras directly. But it doesn't matter because they're booing the coaches for not pulling Petras because he's playing terribly. So they're still booing because he's playing horribly. That's not better.

Edit: needed to add "not"

Yeah, I heard soundoff, the fans were yelling Petras and booing so it was directed at SP. The sound off guys were crying like babies. Major butt hurt. Then Ross verbal slaps @ChrisMWilliams in the face by saying ISU doesn’t have a call in show.
Apart from that just being wrong, is that even something to brag about? It's not like those call-in shows are ever really insightful.

Yup, they are now selling merchandise which I’m sure very little actually goes to the hospital. Carson King (an ISU fan) is responsible for more donations to UIHC than the Iowa wave ever will be.

I will say we have people who at least are knowledgeable about football. Ross and Travis seem to be guys that have watched a lot of Iowa football and played some in junior high and hung up the cleats. They don’t have fundamental knowledge.

In all honesty, right now the wave is the least they can do considering those kids are already sick and they are forced to watch Iowa's offense.

The way they hype it for credibility definitely colors my take on it as well. But the reality is that up in that building it is a very meaningful thing to a lot of those kids. It was better when it was just a thing fans did.

We had a good time actually. We got a yard parking spot just off Melrose and got lots of “Go Hawks” / “Go State” hollers, all in fun. We grilled and tailgated in the yard and it was great. Lines to get inside were fast but bathroom and concession lines sucked. We sat in the Cyclone allotment and everyone around us had fun, including the Hawk fans amongst us. We yelled our ass off and got a nice soaking at the end. Nothing bad whatsoever to report. Booing Petras was funny to me. I joined in. And man he deserves it honestly. That offense is awful. I wouldn’t want to go to more games if i were a Hawk fan. Ugly

It is not hard to wave at someone from a football stadium. If waving encourages anyone to take the next step and actually visit a sick friend, relative, fellow employee, whomever that is something positive. Days can be long and tedious for many people that are ill.

Sure, I just don't think having a post-game call in show is something to really brag about.

I guess you could say that a lack of one shows a lack of fan engagement, but Iowa State clearly doesn't have a problem with fan engagement.

Listened to the show just to hear the meltdown. When Ross made the “no call in show” comment I realized that hawk fans have really gotten too full of themselves. And then he said something about Iowa being “a national brand” and Iowa State isn’t. The post game butt hurt was amazing.

Petras is succeeding at what they want him to do - he is the sacrificial lamb to draw fire away from BF. Every bullet he takes is one less into the Moon Family Nepotism Corporation.
They will leave him in there to burn as long as possible, just to cover BF incompetence. Killing a young mans psyche so they can stretch out their multimillion contracts longer. Shameful.
