Ok, so I just did a full re-install of windows XP on my comp. I finally got the internet working and everything, now I'm working on downloading all of my drivers. I went to the dell website and found the drivers for my comp, a lot of them say either "urgent" "recommended" and "optional" do I need to download all of the "urgent" and "recommended" drivers for my computer to work properly?

For the most part yes. Since it's Dell I'm sure they are giving you some of their crap to put on it too, but it won't hurt anything.

PS When you upgrade to Windows 7, Windows Update will automatically find and install your drivers for you. And it comes with Nvidia drivers so you don't have to stare at a monitor at 640x480 for too long!

Anything market urgent of optional you dont need. Just the driver for the specific hardware.

If dell provides a chipset driver, use it. It will probably cover a few things that dont show up labeled or "unknown"
