I can't remember them winning in the gold unisShould have worn red.
Probably not many out there like Tech, fortunately. At least not ones like them in rd. 1.All depends on the matchup we run into.
Texas Tech is exactly the kind of team that is bad for us.
Brockington must have made a deal with the devil before the West Virginia game. He has been a shadow of himself since then.Brockington looks like he has dead ass legs. Nobody else on this team can create their own shot.
Adams is not a good guy.Yeah, I don't get that at all. I see that Tech team and want us to be carbon copies. They are RELENTLESS. Those guys have no business being that good, but they're incredible. Their effort is unmatched and they just will the ball into the hoop. Adams is easy to respect. I have no issues rooting for them to go a long ways in March and the fact we somehow held on to beat them (while depleted) in Ames is definitely our best win of the year.
He is a liability out there. Like, literally I don't know how his playing time can be justified when his shot isn't falling. Our defense and rebounding take massive hits when he's out there. Watch the tape, whenever there is an offensive rebound or wide open shot for the opposing team, it is because he either got beat or missed an assignment. He has no ball handling ability either. Just a total disaster when he isn't making shots. It is plainly obvious that he can't play consistently well at this level, and has shown why he was originally committing to play in the Summit League out of HS.No leave Grill out, a least without his pi$$ poor excuse for defense TTU hadn't scored for while.
So profoundly true.I hate to be harsh, but this is the first team that has managed to make overachieving look really bad way too often.
The belief that was so vital early on has started to wain. The players looked a little distant and vacant from the opening tip tonight. I do think they'll come out ready to play next week though.Effort was poor again...seeing poor effort way too much still
Yes. Steve wouldn't have gotten 20 wins out of this roster. Maybe half that. Was Prohm REALLY that bad?? That’s what you got to ask yourself. Because OTZ isn’t exactly blowing me away with his coaching prowess…
Has Brockington indicated he's not coming back? He has another year left.TJ will get talent here. He did a great job getting Hunter to recommit, landing Brockington, and he was able to recruit well as an assistant under multiple coaches. My worry is Brockington sounds like he’s a real tone setter and worker in practice. He will really hard to replace in games and as a leader.
I think Brockington is a great player and team mate. Amazing numbers on the season - leading scorer and rebounder. A warrior. TT took him out of the game. They were taller, longer, stronger and played super hard. Hard to scheme your way out of that.Has Brockington indicated he's not coming back? He has another year left.
And honestly tonight's an example of why he should. He still has some things to work on in his game.
If all those guys are gone, that’s a lot of open scholarships. You think TJ with a full cycle can’t get 2-3 starter quality guys in the portal?
Oh we can win alright. I think we can beat anyone in the country, but we seem to be a team that can get smoked by Wartburg.
teams that struggle shooting don't make good tournament teams. I am just picturing us drawing the 8/9 seed and playing first thing on thursday and going like 1-23 from 3,
Especially when that was his big selling feature when he was hired.I get the feeling people have just decided to ignore TJ's recruiting history at ISU.
Especially when that was his big selling feature when he was hired.
Even the staunchest defenders were like he’s not a great X’s and O’s guy, but he sure can recruit.
If he ends up not working out here, it certainly won’t be because he couldn’t get dudes.
I mean, I’m cool with the sacrificing offense to guard the hell out of people “habits” being the culture of the programI keep saying it but put even a poor man's Niang at the top kicking off the offense with better shooters off the wing and the 'what is ISU even doing!?' stuff would likely go away.
Day after (and hungover post): last night sucked. They put both guns up.... right up our back side and pulled the trigger.
We can argue all we want about the spectrum of fans looking between 2 wins last year vs. 20 wins a NCAA bid this year.
Put me in the middle of that. Fingers crossed the feeling of not playing a B12 team in the NCAA for the round of 64, is enough to get this team back to what they can be. I hope last night wasn't too deflating.
Because even with me being in the middle of that spectrum, if we somehow get a NCAA win, even if it's just one this year, then there is no arguing this year was ok.
Hope our guys can flush last night and go back to work.
I AGREE when I saw those gold uni's ...I thought ...Here Comes Another Blow Out to Tx Tech!I can't remember them winning in the gold unis
I mean, I’m cool with the sacrificing offense to guard the hell out of people “habits” being the culture of the program
But there has to be more than one and a half guys that can initiate an offensive set. I mean who on this current roster, other than Brock and Tyrese, would play at all on any other team in this league?
That’s why I’m wondering how people can be so up in arms. This was never a one year turnaround. Let’s see what happens with a couple of full off-seasons to bring in guys
If we’re still this overmatched in 2024, then people can be concerned
