It's absolutely EMBARRASSING how much crying there is about the officiating. We are getting crushed by a crazy good team that's playing spectacular. They earned this win, they deserve this win, they are absolutely better than us, like it or not! Stop bringing up the officials, it's just dumb.
The women's games are really bad. I honestly believe it's an age and region thing. Nobody yells more than old white men at women's basketball games, especially when their team is the slower, weaker team.

Why the hell are the Baylor starters in the game? 33 point lead isn’t enough with 3:30 to play? Expecting the team getting beat down to pull theirs first?

How 'bout "we need to create more open 3-point looks and make the ones we get!"
I just don't see much of a way it was possible tonight. They are totally overplaying us at the 3 point line cause they know we can't take them off the bounce

We had plenty of open looks in the first 15 minutes of the game.

I don't think anybody is really calling the players or coaches out. We just know what has to be done to beat the top teams in the sport. The womens game is closer to college football in the distribution of talent. It's tough to break through.

The problem is even a contested three is a better shot tonight against a team like Baylor. Shoot poorly from there and get run out of the gym? Sure. Well you are guaranteed to get run out of the gym if you play the way we game planned tonight. Even if contested threes only give you a 5% chance of getting hot and winning it’s better than 0% playing inside agains them. That’s just suicide.

Seeing a lot of posts about "we need to shoot more threes!" Are we watching the same game? Baylor is hounding us at the three point line and we are not getting ANY open looks.
I am assuming what people are saying is we are going to have to figure how to get people open to take those threes. You are right, we are not open, but BF is going to have to figure out how to offensively scheme for teams like this. The other thing that is scare is we are going to have about 20 points from the line.

Someone or someone’s with better knowledge of this help me understand how we get curb stomped by Texas and Baylor every time we play them? I get they have taller, more athletic players, but as others have said teams like Oklahoma and Kansas have beaten them and we have destroyed them. Even with the recruiting imbalance we absolutely should not be getting whooped like this as the #8 team in the country, let along doing so at home. There has to be something else to it.

Even with this being a hyped game, you just knew there wasn’t a way we would stay with them. It’s a depressing feeling with an overall good team and damn good season. So, what’s up?

you would have to go look at the stat lines. Did those teams like OU and KU play some sort of gimic defense? was Baylor just terrible at shooting that day? did they have all players? Did Baylor and KU shoot lights out?

IF ISU made 15 threes tonight and Baylor shot like garbage.....we win.

But overall, we dont' match up with these teams. even teams like OU and KU probably have at least one player that can get physical.

We’re not 25-30 points worse than BU and UT. Worse teams have hung tougher with them, and that’s way too much of a discrepancy to be fully attributed to “matchup.” It’s a mental problem. We play timidly against these long, athletic, physical teams, and you can see that in the shooting percentages. On top of that, refs don’t reward timid, they reward aggression. These are compounding effects. Hopefully this core group of young guards can bottle up these experiences and learn from them.

Bill is an amazing coach, so this isn’t taking away what he has done or anything. But it’s coaching. He has never really cracked that code to get his players in position to succeed. We have to be able to play inside out and get our shooters looks and then make them against these teams. It has happened but it’s the outlier not the norm. We aren’t going to match their athleticism or size ever.

Also we are a dribbling team where the ball tends to get stuck in one players hands. Ashley is amazing but she’s not what you want against these teams because the ball sticks. And that’s a disservice to her by the coaches not getting a better game plan to put her in those positions.
