If 2 of them jump to the SEC then it won’t be that stable for much longer. Especially when the B1G could tell UVA and UNC with a straight face that they will double their TV money by jumping north.

I've always kind of questioned the FSU and Clemson to the SEC rumors. Clemson basically has a golden path to the playoffs every year, do they really want to give that up? I get the money difference but they are cashing in on the playoffs every year.

Right, and Delaney managing the clout of tOSU and UM allowed the conference to thrive under the BTN. Had there had been a separate Buckeye Network or Wolverine Network I fully expect the Big 10 would have seen instability similar to that the Big 12 saw with the creation of the Longhorn Network. There is no way Penn St. stays in that scenario, and it may have driven others away if they felt they weren't receiving equal treatment.

When Beebe failed to secure equal revenue sharing for the original Big 12 members, that set in motion the end of the conference. The LHN was the poison in the well, and any acts to fix it were going to be too little, too late.

Don't blame Beebe. The problem always was, is, and shall forever be the egos of Texas. They were making more money than anyone in the USA participating in the Big 12 and it wasn't good enough. **** em.

It’s humorous to look back at all the failures of the LHN. Originally developed to carry TX high school football to attract recruits… cancelled. Then never lived up to any hype. Now gutted by ESPN to placate the failures. Just precious.

Ironically, Nebraska was a big part of it too. They didn't want anything to do with equal revenue until they saw how far past them Texas and OU had shot.

It's literally the worst contract ESPN has ever signed and that includes Stephen A Smith.

I am desperately hoping you're not serious and this is just a poor taste troll. Depends on your skin color????
Meaning if you were white he was probably pretty nice. Not so much if your weren't. I'm not espousing my own beliefs, JFC. This isn't really that much different than the Qanon and Proud Boys of today. Some white people in those circles aren't full of hate they're just hopefully ignorant and brainwashed.

The ACC schools are all pretty well to do financially and they have a lot of deep traditions outside of football. I just don't see it happening.
Maybe those schools have good donor bases and/or get money from general university funds, but the media distributions are very low compared to SEC and Big 10. And that's with Clemson and ND football carrying it. And Clemson would leave the same reason Oklahoma left the Big 12. If they feel like financially they are getting left in the dust by the SEC and Big 10, they might decide they need to jump. Sure, there are still some good draws in the league for football, including Miami and UNC, but there are a bunch of mediocre to terrible football brands - Wake, Duke, BC, Pitt, Syracuse...

The same could be said for OU. Good money and a good path to the CFP. Then along came CMC! Their path no longer certain.

Ultimately, this looks to me like there is going to be a game of chicken in about February. Are Texas and Oklahoma willing to play one more year in the Big12? Or do other conferences/the remaining Big12 schools start sending/accepting invitations first?

It feels to me like Oklahoma and Texas want out bad enough that they (along with the SEC and ESPN) will pay a pretty generous buyout. That is when realignment will start.

Lots of blame to go around but the B12's troubles started when former Commish Kevin Weiberg pushed for the formation of a Big 12 Network back in the 2006 timeframe (before BTN) and the quartet of UT, OU, aggy and Nebraska refused. All it took was for one of them to side with Weiberg and if that happened, the B12 would not be in the position it is today.

I'm guessing that @BWRhasnoAC is probably regretting that he used the term "wonderful". At least without adding some qualifiers.
I mean if me saying my great grandfather was a terrible POS contrary to double digit first hand accountings then ok. The gymnastics you're doing to force some latent racism on me is fairly ridiculous.

I mean you could hold that one message without context to the rest of the things I've said if that suits you. I'm tired of all virtue signaling that comes up from minor differences in semantics/ cloudy sentence structure.
