Assuming Texas and Oklahoma stay I’m curious who would say still try and find an alternative option.

I’m still not totally convinced that they have the political leverage to make it happen (even if they want to leave) but I’m ready to move to the Big Ten anyway if we can make it happen.

I imagine any deal that gets them to stay comes with a GOR extension, as that is the only enforceable way to make them “stay.” So, no one else would be looking to move at that point anyway. We would all be signing our media rights over to the conference entity into the mid 2030s.

At this point im tired of groveling and pandering to TX and OU. I dont want it saved, I want out.

I want to stay in a power conference even if we have to kiss their ass. It’s better than playing in the American Plus with a $10M payout as we watch ISU-ECU on FS2.

This is pretty bad. So the Big 12 bends over for OU and UT today and save the ship, again, what happens in 2 years when they start shaking their d*ck again and want more? If the Big 12 really can save itself this time, if I were ISU, KU, OSU, et al, I'd start campaigning for a new conference next week. This toxic cycle will never stop.

The ultimate slap in the face would be if the SEC voted no or ESPN called it no go, and then Baylor and Tech gave away the store.

Post on Reddit. Hard to see the others agreeing to take a hit just to achieve a dead cat bounce.

The headline may overall still be right, but the problem with this post is taking AD 'profit' numbers seriously.

Most of the time they do what they can to minimize the amount of profit reported and generally spend every dollar available

Correct. But even comparing profit, that $5M would have to come from somewhere.

Doesnt take into the account that we already have uneven revenue sharing, and if it was equal it would balance better, like other conferences. Illinois gets a share of tOSUs Revenue, Vandy gets a Share of Alabamas. Yet TX and OU keep theirs and share nothing. This is why OU and TX are on the top of the national Rev list. And other schools in other conferences are way ahead of us because their big names share, and ours we continue to pander to.

I’m still not convinced the political willingness is there on both sides. I think the Texas and Oklahoma legislatures will both want to be convinced their other schools will have stable landing places.

I’m also not totally convinced the SEC is going to have enough buy in. Texas A&M is a clear no. Missouri I think is likely a no as they know how Texas operates. Maybe they can get enough but I wouldn’t be happy if I were one of those schools. Texas brings a lot of money but they are a cancer.

Assuming that is the case it doesn’t necessarily mean the GOR gets extended.

True, but if the B10 or PAC isn’t looking promising, that guy will be nothing than the hit being in some salvaged big 12 with G5 additions. If the options are financial hit or Armageddon the choice is easy.

I think there is also an issue with his numbers not including Texas’s or Oklahoma’s tier 3 rights which I believe are already included in the SECs numbers. If I’m not mistaken, Texas would probably initially make less money in the SEC until a new TV deal is restructured with the new members.
