Big 10 is obviously best case scenario for both money and stability. Road trips to Boulder and Eugene sound pretty fantastic though.
How old are you? Not being an *******. Genuinely curious. Boulder is full of fans that are total jerks

In my 30's. I've only been to Boulder once, but didn't have any problems with their fans. Beautiful city.

The NFL would probably be happy with it. Fewer teams to scout.
Disagree. Some of the best QBs don’t come from these “powerhouse” schools the SEC will have.

The Big 12/Pac 12 merger into a 20 team super conference is a very interesting option, although I'd prefer the Big 10.

I'm pretty sure of one thing. Because both the Pac 12 and Big 10 know they'll have to act soon to ensure their own self interest or risk getting stuck with leftovers, ISU won't be in limbo land for very long. I'm thinking the domino's may start falling very soon, which is good.

I want to comment on this. Campbell's recruiting pitch is to be the Big 12 option for kids in Big 10 recruiting areas. Why not be the Pac 16 option for midwestern kids. Same thing. This wouldn't mean we HAVE to exclusively recruit California or anything close to that.

I think it is a MUCH harder sell to tell kids they will be the pac 12 option for the midwest kids. First, that makes very little sense. Second, it is a lot longer trip from Illinois or Ohio to Oregon or California or Arizona than it is to Oklahoma. In addition, we are pulling a lot of Missouri kids right now.

In addition, the pods being talked about for us in the PAC 12 are really awful.

I hope Campbell would stick around in that case, but I highly doubt it.

Why can’t all of this be true. It seems apparent the SEC isn’t stopping at 16. Why not gobble up the 2 big 12 teams that fit the mold, go after all the PAC teams you can, and then raid the ACC ASAP.
ESPN is bankrolling both the SEC and ACC networks now, so the ACC will be the last schools they go after. They will target the Big 10 schools whos contract is with Fox Sports first, and then go from there.

I meant this as a plan of action for the big 10. ISU and KU being the 2 mold fitting schools. ASAP for raiding the ACC might be 10 years when the end of their GOR is nearer.

the whole thing is breaking down, i do think they send the letter but the letter will say we need a new model, espn behind the scenes i think maybe tapping the breaks, espn does not want iowa state relegated below p5, espn does not want decentralization one iota

post was speculative, just my sense
