But we care a lot and a lot of people go to KC to drink beer in March.
We can go back and forth all day. You'll continue to support the antiquated advertising model you're touting. I'll continue to point to a more dedicated fan-base with more targeted marketing models. So, let's just agree to disagree.
They act like they're being shafted with them when they've had less than most others over the last 10 years.
We are near the top for number of 11am home games so it's at least a more legit gripe.
why do they have to bring in anyone if the best they can get is ISU? That's not intended to be a shot at ISU. I could certainly see them adding ISU if they're adding a huge chunk of the ACC and wanted to add ISU to shore up the midwest.
But if ISU is the big name being added...why do it?
It's basically the same predicament the Big 12 has been in since they went to 10 teams. Sure they can add Cincinnati or BYU, but why?
I said yesterday that I thought ISU would be fine no matter what. I'm rethinking that, and I'm starting to think that Iowa should be worried as well. Conferences don't mean **** if the top 20 schools leave and do their own thing.
WTF are you talking about? Anytime you wanna show me proof that any conference is looking for anything other than larger revenue bases to tap into please show me the evidence? If they just wanted loyal fans who traveled Boise State would be in the Pac 12.
I see many ways, I see more ways they do than they don't and it may be we apply, and get accepted. Saying we don't make the B1G in this scenario is short sighted.
The only way this ends up good for ISU is if Ok and TX are using this to negotiate their way to keeping more revenue for themselves in the Big 12. And that’s a crappy situation for the rest of us to be in because this whole deal just shows the fragility of the conference if those two decide to flex.
Because the SEC will be holding the cards. The smartest thing the PAC, B1G and ACC can do is try to level things out and breakaway into a four conference league.
The damage is done at this point. All trust has been burnt and even if this is all posturing (it's not) I don't know how the league could move forward.
I don't either. But it would be good for us if it did.
If we were in a bad athletic/football position, then I think we would probably be fine with a ****** reconfigured Big 12. But now? We need the Big 12 to survive as long as possible so that we can get out as much as we can.
I have lived in St. Louis for 17 years. I'm sorry man, but you are giving Mizzou way too much credit. Sounds to me like you are a Mizzou guy on an ISU message board trying to convince everyone how popular you are. Weird
There are plenty of 11:00 am games in the SEC as well so it's not like this is only something to deal with in the Big 12.
Yeah I'm a huge Mizzou fan. You're on crack if you think ISU has more fans than Mizzou. ISU doesn't even have as many fans as Iowa. JFC perspective!
So the SEC adds OU and Texas, and you think the Big 10 adding ISU is leveling things out?
What is far more likely is the Big 10 and Pac 12 revive that partnership idea they had the last time the Big 12 was possibly imploding.
Frankly what I'm scared is going to happen is OSU, Michigan, and PSU leave the Big 10, Clemson, FSU, and Miami leave the ACC, USC, Oregon, and Washington leave the Pac 12 (or some other combination of departures for the new SEC league) and ISU and Iowa will be in the same conference in the new 1AA league.
